*Haylies POV*

I was laying in my bed asleep, when a bunch of whispers woke me up. I opened my eyes open and saw my family standing around my bed. Uncle Harry was there, so was uncle Liam, uncle Louis, uncle Zayn, aunt Perrie, aunt Eleanor, and aunt Dani. My dad and Claire were there too. Grandma Maura was there, Grandpa Bob was there. Uncle Greg was there. Uncle Harry's mom and uncle Louis' mom too. My cousins were even there. Julie, El and Louis' kid. Dan and Leah, Dani and Liam's kids and Hannah, Perrie and Zayn's kid. Literally my whole family was there.

"Happy birthday Haylie!" They all shouted. Perrie was standing at the end of my bed holding a small purple bow with a big glittery bow tied around it.

I smiled at them and sat up. I rubbed eyes eyes and said, "You guys are just too nice."

They laughed at my sarcasm. "Happy birthday Haylie!" Perrie said holding the box out. I smiled big and took the box from her.

I untied the bow and took the top off the box. Inside was a key. It was a motorcycle key. I got up so quick and ran to my window. Everyone started to laugh. Outside in the drive way beside my first motorcycle, was a second motorcycle. This one was purple and white. It was more of a motor bike than a motorcycle. I turned around to everyone. I couldn't help but cry. I was so happy.

I ran over to Zayn and Perrie and hugged them both. "Thank you so much," I gushed. I was literally in love with this new bike and I hadn't even touched it yet.

"Aww, you're welcome Haylie," Zayn said.

When we pulled away from the hug, I wiped my tears and we all laughed a bit. "Let's all go downstairs and give Haylie a minute to get ready," Grandma Maura said.

"Good idea! Everyone downstairs! Last one's a rotten egg!" Louis shouted, he took off with all the kids trailing him. The adults laughed and slowly followed them out. All but my dad.

"Happy birthday sweetie," He said. He came over and hugged me.

"Thanks dad." I said, hugging him back.

When he pulled away from the hug and looked me up and down, "You know, it's like you're her twin." He said. I knew exactly who he was talking about. My mom.

A pang of sadness hit me, just like it does every year on my birthday, because not only was it my birthday but the anniversary of my mom's death. I smiled at him. "I really do wish I could've met her."

"You are her," He laughed. I laughed too. "Even though you two never met, she loved you, you know. She woke up, just for you. Sometimes I think that's the only reason she stayed alive all those months. Just so she could give you to me. It's your birthday, but you're the gift."

A tear trickled down my cheek, but I wiped it away. I nodded. "Thanks dad. You know sometimes, I blame myself for her death, and I know it's ridiculous, but in a way it's sort of true."

"No," He shook his head. "It's not true. You heard the story. Her body was too weak."

"Yeah, but I think a little further than that. Like, if she was never pregnant with me, then you wouldn't have been going to have that big dinner, and that car would've never hit you guys."

"Stop Haylie. You're only hurting yourself by thinking things like that. Besides, they aren't true anyway." He kissed me on the cheek. "Get ready and come downstairs, today's gonna be a good day."

I smiled at him, "Okay,"

He left my room and shut the door behind him. I went over to my closet and looked at the empty rack, then looked at the floor. I had one back pack stuffed full of clothes, money, my computer, chargers, everything I'd need. I was keeping the promise I'd made to Claire back when I was seventeen. I was leaving today.
