It was a scramble, chaos at its finest as guests were fleeing from something they couldn't even see, a basic primal instinct telling them that flight would save them.Kara lost sight of Sara in the crowd after telling the time captain to go and find their daughter, after taking off for the exits but having stopped to look through the throng of people to see if she could even find her sister or any of the other super friends.
"What's going on?" Comes a female's voice off to her left, hand briefly resting on the Kryptonian's back to get her attention.
Looking over, she felt the tiniest bit of relief seeing Lena, "I don't know." Came the heroine's reply, blues back to scanning around them for her family. "Midvale hasn't had any big histories of earthquakes, always got sort of lucky like that," Kara explains.
"I don't think luck had anything to do with it." Lena replies, the implication of Kara's 'meddling' as Alex would like to call it clear. "And Sara?" She asks, nothing but concern there.
Because of the ground's quaking, things around them had become unstable and fallen out of sorts, it wasn't until part of the roof collapsed that the safety of everyone became critical and top priority, something that should have been the priority from the beginning.
𝐺𝑒𝑡 𝑖𝑡 𝑡𝑜𝑔𝑒𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟, 𝐾𝑎𝑟𝑎!
"She went to find Varys." Kara purses her lips before reaching up to grab the frames of the glasses, ripping them away as her gaze settles on an exit. Of course, knowledge was as good as reading a murder mystery book and knowing everything the protagonist does, but can't warn them about the impending tragedy. It was of no profound comfort. "Get the team together, tell them to make sure these people are safe and have Brainy pull up the tower's system, see if he can't pinpoint where this is coming from."
"I don't think you'll need Brainy's skills to tell you that," Lena remarks, causing the blonde to look at then follow the Luthor's fixated upward gaze to the hole in the roof. Kara could see the charred pieces on the edges of the opening and debris on the ground, something had blasted open the roof. Through that hole, she saw the underbelly of a large bone chilling familiar, yet clearly alien ship.
"Earthlings!" Boomed a deep voice, commanding the frightful guests to a halt and their attention to shift toward the hole. A hologram filled the sky, broadcasting from the bow, displaying a rough burnt orange visage that had been scarred on the left cheekbone. "We have come to acquire the Kryptonian-human child, surrender it and we won't destroy you as we've clearly shown the capability to do."
While everyone else was staring, consumed in their fear, Kara swallowed hers though it left her mouth dry and began to weave her way toward the exit. She didn't make it far before the super was holding in her hands her super suit, a gust of wind following its appearance.
"These— 𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙤𝙚𝙨 of yours, those among you will be your death should they decide to interfere."
By the end of his ultimatum, Supergirl was up in between the fellowship hall and the ship having to put her trust in her wife that Varys had been found, "Or how about the option of neither?" The crimson eyes turned in her direction, indicating communications had been left open.
From up here, she could see what had caused the tremors, blackened craters dotted the area of what used to be cars and trees, completely clearing the area of obstructions to the building.
"I see one, but I know there are more. Are you the only one foolish enough to try and gamble their lives, 𝙙𝙖𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙚𝙧 of Krypton?" He sounded disappointed, dissatisfied with her appearance and while it may be that lines were opened to talk, that didn't look to be on this alien's agenda. She got the feeling his disappointment was due to just more than only her showing up.
