Ichika than started to explain something about responsibility or something dumb knowing him....as he does houki drops her swords as the gospel fires a bunch of missiles towards her....before they could hit houki ichika uses himself as a shield as houki tries to grab him
Max sees houki and ichika falling towards the ocean and quickly uses himself to propel houki upwards before hitting the water
Houki holds ichika as he was badly hurt Houki;ichika!!! Houki shouted as she sees in the corner of her eye to see the gospel fires a beam towards them
Before houki could move Max gets in front of her and ichika and blocks the gospel's beam but the beam was more powerful than Max's shield making him lose his IS and his normal left arm
Max;fuck!! Max shouted in pain as he puts his right hand where his left arm used to be
Houki was shocked to see Max in that condition Houki;Max your a- Houki gets cut off by Max
Max;get back to base now Max growled in pain as blood drops from his wound while adrenaline starts to kick in due to the pain

Houki used her remaining power to head back to base....Max who was in great pain aims his rifle towards the gospel
Max;sensei this is Staratos over Max said as he began to fire his rifle
Chifuyu ;what's going on why are shinono and Orimura retreating? Chifuyu asked as she watches the trackers on a monitor
Max;ichika is down I repeat ichika down houki is taking him back to base have medical personnel ready for them.......I'm going to by time for them to get there sensei Max said as he hit from behind by the gospel's crawling his back
Yamada sees on a monitor that Max's IS is reviving heavy damage Yamada;mr staratos you need to to retreat your IS is taking to much damage Miss Yamada said as she watches the monitor
Max kicks the gospel in the face as it get sends back a few feet Max;I can't just yet besides I'm losing a lot of blood here I won't be able to make the trip back Max said as his rifle gets destroyed by the gospel
Yamada uses the satellite imagery to see Max's condition.....everyone (besides the girls and Gudako) were horrified by the condition Max was in....besides his left arm missing, .... his right leg was in worst shape as it's armor was slashed and you could see blood and oil running down his leg
Chifuyu;Stratos I'm ordering you to retreat immediately Chifuyu said as she watches
Max;man Gudako going to kill me for breaking her promise Max said as he summons his battle axe as the gospel prepares the fire of a large barrage of mini missiles
Max;tell Gudako I'm sorry Max said as he uses the remaining power of his IS and charges forward as he pulls his arm back
As he does chifuyu and Yamada could watch as the gospel fires the missiles and covered max in a huge explosion
As the smoke forms around the area Max was in his axe appear out of the smoke and stabs the right wing of the gospel but max was seen plummeting into the ocean sinking into the water

Miss Yamada was looking at the monitor Yamada;they are not moving does HQ still want us to continue the operation? Yamada said as she looks towards chifuyu
Chifuyu continues to look at the monitors Chifuyu;we're continuing unless they call it off Chifuyu said
Yamada was shocked to hear that Yamada;but what are we going to do now? Yamada asked as she looks at chifuyu with concern
After a few minutes someone knocked on the door of the monitoring room

Charles,Rin,Laura and Cecilia stood there and talked about how chifuyu was worried about ichika but she was staying strong and focuses on the mission....but two concerns they have were ichika who was in medical care and Gudako who was devastated about hearing Max's death as they could not retrieve him
Right now Gudako was in her room holding Max's goggles and his scarf tightly as she cries her heart out

After a few hours houki was approached by the other girls asking her to join them on taking the gospel for good at first she refused
