It was a stormy night when Olivia went to bed after playing some PlayStation games with the guys downstairs. It had been a fun evening even after the events that happened in the bathroom which she was still cringing about. 'Max' had been the sweetest and she was starting to warm up to him.

She woke up startled as a huge peal of thunder crashed directly overhead. It was loud enough to rattle the windowpane. Olivia wasn't too scared of thunderstorms but the combination of not being at home and feeling oversensitive was enough to not let her go back to sleep.

She decided to get up and grab a glass of water from the kitchen downstairs. She looked at the time, it was 1:22 am. With a sigh, she made her way, being extra careful to not make any noises and wake up the whole house. She turned the kitchen light on and looked around silently standing in the middle of the room. There was an exit door in the kitchen which led to the back of the garden and Olivia decided to have a look outside instead. She sat on the covered patio wooden bench, holding the glass of water and just appreciating the show nature was providing.

"Are you okay?" She heard Max's voice from inside the kitchen. His feet were dragging in her direction which denounced that he was still sleepy.

"Sorry, did I wake you up?"

"You didn't. I was on my phone and heard you going downstairs but never heard you coming back up so I decided to check on you." He said trying to suppress a yawn and looking adorable in his snuggly pajamas. A small smile worked its way across her face and into her eyes. The way 'Max' cared for her was warming her inside.

"Are you afraid of the storm?" He asked as he sat down next to her.

"No, I might be enjoying it a bit too much. You don't have to stay. I swear I'm okay. I haven't tripped again on my two left feet." Olivia replied and he chuckled.

"That's good. You are a walking hazard."

They both watched in silence as lightning  flashed the dark skies and a stream of rain was splattering on the patio.

"I think this moment requires a cup of hot chocolate."

Lando said as he got up to prepare the hot beverages. He came back a few minutes later carefully holding the big mugs and handing one to Olivia.

"Now these are extremely hot, if you drop them on you or me we might need to go to the ER." He warned Olivia with a mocking tone.

"I can't make any promises. You better stay clear from me."

The warmness of the drink was making Olivia sleepy again, but 'Max' was sitting by her side and she didn't want to seem rude by leaving. Her eyes were becoming heavy and she was struggling to listen to what he was saying.

"Listen, tomorrow I have to go to Italy for work. Max, err, yes, my friend Max, can drive you home if you're okay with that." Olivia nodded still in silence. She rubbed her eyes in an attempt to remain awake.

"That's fine, thank you for being so kind. I don't know why you took a liking to me, but I'm happy you walked into the bookshop that one afternoon." She said as she rested her head on his shoulder, a gesture that surprised both of them. Olivia was always afraid of reaching out and touching another human that even for her, was a first.

Lando thought about her words and how she was clueless as to the reason he had come into her life. He tossed the thoughts around in his head, feeling guilty for the way he was behaving. He was blatantly lying to that girl and pretending to be someone else. She needed to know the truth and he would have to find the courage to tell her that.

As he planted a soft kiss on the top of her head, she snuggled up to him even more. Lando knew at that moment that his feelings for Olivia had evolved beyond just wanting to get laid. He was willing to wait for her to be ready and that was something he had never considered before with his past relationships. He softy raked his fingers through her hair.

"When I return to the UK, there is something I need to tell you." He said not wanting to ruin that moment when Olivia was finally able to show some affection.

"Is there something wrong?" She asked gently lifting her head from his shoulder to look at him. With his arm, he placed her head back where he felt it belonged.

"No, don't worry about it now. Let's go upstairs, sleepyhead." He said noticing how she could barely keep her eyes open.

They both walked upstairs and before they went to their room, they stopped for a second. Lando didn't want to suggest anything that would make her uncomfortable and Olivia wasn't sure how to ask him if they could spoon in bed. It was almost as they could read each other's minds as he reached out his hand to her and led her to his bedroom.

"Good morning, happy lil thang." He said as he felt Olivia stretching in bed.

"Morning, Max." She replied with a yawn before realizing that her head was on his naked chest, the same way she was when she fell asleep in his arms.

"Did you sleep well?"

"I did. And you? Aren't you sore?" She asked concerned that he hadn't moved all night because of her.

"Not really, I'm happy to let you drool all over my chest."

"Oh gosh..." She wiped her mouth and a chuckle escaped his lips.

"You are too cute!" He said as he quickly got on top of Olivia, tickling her awake.

As Olivia tried to escape from him, her body contorting under his, she couldn't help but think she enjoyed the way he was pinning her down. Their gaze met somehow and he stopped tickling her. He was using his arms not to fall on top of her and her eyes strayed from his ripped chest to his muscly arms and his messy curls. Without hesitation, she reached her head up, wrapped her arms around his neck, and kissed him.

"Ouch." She backed away from the kiss for a moment.

"What is it?"

"I forgot I cut my lip yesterday." She replied as she touched her lip.

"I'll be gentle." He rested her head on the pillow and kissed her again, softly this time.

With one hand he was navigating her body, surprised that not only she wasn't recoiling from his touch, but she seemed to be enjoying where his hands were going. A soft moan escaped her lips when they took a small break from the kiss. He slowly lifted the baggy t-shirt she was wearing and observed the way Olivia reacted as she reached out to the waistband of his pajama pants.

"Are you sure?" He asked Olivia as he nibbled on her soft skin.

"I am."
