Loki was staring at the knife that was being held above him. The Guard seemed to be thinking about which part of him to cut.

"W-what are you planning on doing with that!?" Loki stammered, trying to sound as if he wasn't scared at all.

The Guard looked him dead in the eye and smiled, saying "You'll see shortly, I just have to figure out where I'm to cut."

Every possible scenario went through Loki's mind. Regular cuts, skinning, marking, anything.

The Guard seemed to finally make a decision, and it was Loki's right arm.

Confused, and curious, Loki asked the Guard, "Are you ever going to let me know what you're doing, or are you just going to let me lay here wondering?"

Loki was being sarcastic because he was pretty much sure he knew what was going to happen.

The Guard smiled and finally said, taking out what looked like a vein spotter, "I kind of want to see what the pattern of your veins would look like on the outside of your skin."

Dang it! Loki thought. That was the one thing he didn't even dare think of. It was times like this when Loki wished he had been immortal.

The Guard lowered his hand slightly, placing the vein spotter on Loki's arm. Shortly after figuring out the starting point, the Guard lowered the knife.

"WAIT", Loki yelled out. "Come on, let's talk about this. You don't really want to do this right?" Loki questioned, his voice raising roughly three octaves.

The Guard bent down close to Loki's ear and said "Try not to scream okay?"

The Guard started tracing the pattern of Loki's blood veins on the top of his skin. He was going to slow, pulling the knife through Loki's skin as if painting on a canvas and trying not to miss anything.

Loki couldn't do anything at this point but scream, it hurt that badly. The Guard started tracing near his shoulder, going down far enough to almost touch the bone, but not enough to make him bleed out.

Loki tried moving to break free of the restraints, but no luck.

'Damn,' Loki thought, 'Damn it, why does this hurt this badly?'

Loki's felt as though he'd rather the Guard have cut his arm off. Loki continued to try to get out of the restraints.

"Don't move or you'll make it worse", the Guard spoke, cutting deeper into Loki's skin, now at the top of the elbow. "You have such beautiful veins", the Guard said menacingly, laughing at Loki's pain.

The knife continued to slice through his skin, carving through it like it was dancing, never missing a step.

Loki's arm was covered in blood, and the Guard was only barely passed his elbow. What made this even worse was that the Guard was using a very dull knife, meaning it took more force to cut through his skin.

By the time the Guard got to Loki's wrist, Loki was crying. He wasn't screaming anymore, mostly because he'd lost the majority of his voice. His tears fell on the table.

Once the Guard was done, he went up toward Loki's neck and drew the same vein pattern upon him.

Loki had never wanted something to stop more than he wanted this to.

"Wow, I didn't think you and this much blood in you," the Guard stated, taking some of his blood and drawing a circular shape on the other side off his neck.

"For next time", the Guard said, turning and walking out, leaving Loki tied to the table, bleeding profusely.

"Don't move," the Guard, exiting the room and shutting the door.

Loki laid on the table, blood spilling everywhere, finally realizing that there was no way he was getting out of this. Not much after the Guard had left, Loki passed out.
