Liana was heading to her job at the Sedas Café, knowing damn well she was going to be late for her shift. 'Fuck' think to herself as it begins to downpour when she was halfway there. Her being the way she is, didn't think about bringing an umbrella as she was obviously in a rush, why think about it? A gentleman then approaches her, making her stop, "please move sir, I'm in a hurry" she say, then looked up to see a man with short black hair that was shaping his narrow blue eyes. He didn't say anything at first until he handed his umbrella, "I saw you without one and it seemed like you needed it more than I do." Confused as to why this man was helping her, but it was thoughtful because how late she was and her uniform was already drenched. "Thank you but I'm good as you can see I'm already covered in water. I must be on my way" before she could start walking again he insisted he walked with her to her destination with his umbrella. She nodded, not knowing what to say, she still didn't understand why this man was helping her, she don't even know the guy. After walking for a minute, she needed to know why he was walking with her. "I know you needed the help so I'm helping, plus you work in the café that's close by and I'm starting today so why not walk together" well it did make sense but everything about this situation seemed off. Liana couldn't think about that though, she needed to know if she's going to be fired today for being this late.

-10 minutes later-

They finally make it to the café, and as soon as Liana walks in her at-work girlfriend was already up her ass about being late, "you're late Liana! The boss isn't happy since he's in today" she says as she was struggling to make multiple coffees at once. Liana smacked my forehead knowing she was in some deep shit, "thanks Sal, D-bag" she says to her, along with she rolling her eyes, she walks behind the counter throwing an apron over her head and then tying it behind her back. Then walked into the manager's office, taking a deep breath in then resumed to knock on the door, continued by a voice saying to come in. Opening the door Kent, sat at the desk and then says, "you're late, for the second time this month. Why is that? Since it's concerning my shit now." She closes the door behind her with a disgusted look on her face, turning back around with a worried face and said, "sir please forgive me, I was only 30 minutes late. The train took a minute longer and I live..." Kent interrupts Liana by putting his index finger out signaling her to shh. "I'm going to stop you right there, I'm writing you up this time. Screw up twice and I'm replacing you faster than you can beg for your job back." He then signals her to leave his office but before she could open the door, it was opened from the other side by the same guy who walked her here. She blushes being embarrassed by him seeing she was in there, 'he probably heard everything that Kent said to me, I would judge myself too if I was him.' The door closes behind her once the guy walks into the office, without a thought she walks back and finally helps Sal make drinks for the four people waiting.

Only an hour pasts until Kent and the other guy walked out of the office, Sal and Liana stopped talking when they did and looked at them both. "Ladies, please welcome Levi Ackerman, he is going to run this café so I can continue my other concerns instead of worrying about one late worker. If you have any problems with your schedule or anything else take it up with him. Well, I'm off." Kent pats Levi on the back then heads his way to the exit, as the girls watched Levi walk back into the office again they gave each other the 'what the fuck just happened' look. "No way that guy is going to be the manager here. He somehow knew I worked here and tried to help me in the rain" Sal questioned her with one of her eyebrows up, "Liana I think you're being paranoid girl, no one would stock you, you don't have any reason for a stocking."

"Thanks Sal, that helps my self-esteem" Liana says, crossing her arms across her chest with rolling her eyes, "What! You know I'm kidding girly, don't take it so personally." She shoves Liana in a playful action as Levi peeks his head out from the side of the door to the office and he says in a serious tone, "you two should be working, clean something. I'm sure this entire place needs it." Sal gave him an ugly look, not sure if he saw it or not, but Liana kind of was hoping he did a little.

-Closing Time-

Sal said her goodbyes as Liana told her to go home and that she would clean the rest of the place herself, she preferred to stay later to not only catch up on a few more hours of work but also because our new manager wants everything to be spotless. She puts in her earbuds and listened to her Spotify playlist on random. After 30 minutes have passed, Levi finally comes out of the office and throws on the coat that he wore before then sees Liana was still in the building, "hmm would've figured you gone home by now, store is closed."

"Only wanted to continue cleaning as you requested us to do, I sent Sal home half an hour ago." She continued to sweep as he stood there watching her movements, felt like he was enjoying all of this somehow. "Do you have a ride home? Or someone to walk with you?" She shook her head no as she proceeded to put an earbud back in to hear her music and continue cleaning trying to tell him that she wanted to focus on what she's doing instead of talking to him. That never works though especially since he said, "You can't just walk home alone, why don't I walk with you." Liana takes a deep breath as she closes her eyes and takes out an earbud to process everything. 'This random guy, who doesn't know me, wants to walk me home just the two of us. What if he tries to kill me or kidnap me, I just met the guy today, and yet he offers to walk me home', Liana thinks to herself as all these different thoughts kept coming. She shakes it off then comes back to reality, "Sir, sorry if this comes off disrespectful but I am a grown adult and I can walk home myself. So please, if you're wanting to leave and go home yourself, go ahead I'll close up, I always do." He just stands there with a look as if he didn't like the comment she made back. Levi then pulls out a chair from one of the tables, rests his head in the palm of his hand, and watches her clean. Nothing made Liana more uncomfortable than having eyes on her, after some time she takes both earbuds out and shove them into her pocket, then placed a hand on her hip. Liana turns to face him to make eye contact then said, "are you just going to watch me clean or help me? Don't you have anything better to do than just sitting there and watch me?" Then and there he shook his head no and finally said something back, "if you must know, I'm waiting for you to finish what you're doing so I can walk you home peacefully. Trains and buses aren't available at this time, the only other way is getting an Uber but the one that's working has been reported to take women at this time as well. So yes, I'm going to sit here and wait for you. It's my responsibility that this shop doesn't lose another worker, right?" He pulls out a book from his coat and opens it up to where his bookmark was placed, and as for Liana, she couldn't help but just stand there and listen to what he had to say. His voice was so deep and elegant, at the same time it didn't make sense, 'but why would he choose to help me. There must be a reason for it.' She continued to finish up sweeping and wiping down all the tables and counters, even the table he sat at. As soon as she was done, she walk behind the counter to grab her small backpack and proceeded to exit the shop, Levi did the same after he stood up and placing his bookmark back into the book to save his place. As they both exited, he locked the door and she stood there watching his movements, 'he doesn't seem like the type to be a killer or a kidnapper and yet it seems off on why he wants to take me home so badly. He could give no shit about me and yet he's choosing to be a part of my life somehow, 'or you could be thinking about this way too much, Levi can be a nice guy if you give him a chance.' Lianas inner thoughts echoed through her mind, and took into consideration it, 'he did seem nice for trying to help me with an umbrella and walking me home.' Once they began walking, Levi puts his hands in his coat pockets and stays beside her the entire way, he was right about it being peaceful, this was the first night she walked home with someone.

Someone that actually cares.
