CHAPTER TWELVE

    The Resort seemed quite big....I could barely find my way to the garden, and the workers were off sight.
    I needed to speak to Mira, if not for anything to ease the tension  my actions must've created during the night's game.
    I called but she wasn't picking up.....
    ___is she really still angry???hmmm....i'm  not ready for this childish attitude, she better not be___....
    I was sure to have left atleast Ten calls missed....before letting the innocent phone rest from the vibrations of an incoming call.

    ___There you are !......___i exclaimed

    I finally found her at the garden,....I guess that was the exact spot the game was held yesternight.

    ____Mira?___ are you ok DEAR????.... Tried calling but you obviously didn't answer any of my calls.Are you perhaps still angry over last night ishh?...._____
   
    ___ohhh so sorry about that, my phone was on silent. And it wasn't on me. What reasons do I have ignoring your calls???____ she replied with a smile.

    ___Breakfast yet???___ I asked
   
    ____Yeah....I had a slice....____she replied
   
    ____Ummmrrmm ............well Mira____??? About last night.
    I'm sincerely SORRY....I reacted in an awkwardly, was quite pissed...I  wasn't ok with the fact Chloe tried making me look like a fool.____i explained.
    I kept giving reasons as to why I wasn't comfortable with Chloe, and Mira stood listening for awhile and finally placed her. butt on the wooden seat, leaving me standing as she continued sipping her glass of juice while I kept talking non-stop..... She seemed not interested with my reasons for hating on Chloe.
   
    _____hey ! Madam, are you even listening to me? Why aren't you saying anything ...???____i questioned after not getting a reply with my long explanation ending at "you grab?"
   
    She took up the magazine on the table and kept flipping through pages of white women on bikini.....then finally let out a word.
   
    _____hmmmm.... well, you kept going on and on as usual...this' one weird thing about you Dora.....once you start talking you never give the next person an opportunity to speak......___ actually Chloe isn't all bad for real.....you just got to see a bit of her naughty side...trust me....i promise you .she is a nice girl.......just free your mind and give her the opportunity of becoming friends...you will like her company for real

    Someone who was clearly flirting with her friend's fiancé...ohhhh please !....____I replied in objection
   
    She might not be all pious....but trust me....Chloe is a great friend...and that is how we relate.......We hang out together and spend time in each other's apartment we are used to it DD......there's no need for insecurities....we all trust our partners..... Dora you might end up living in scandals if you continue Suspecting people like this....... By the way....you know why we are here right??? I don't have to remind you the purpose of this trip....so please let's enjoy the trip.....please DEAR....try and get along with everyone...even if you have to fake it... come-on let it go now... let's join the others !..... She concluded and left.
I gave an incredulous gasp and followed afterwards.
   
    Got to my room but shut the door  almost immediately I opened.....Seb was on call with Nora.....so I didn't want to interrupt or listen to anything he was saying......

    Yeah I know he was speaking to Nora cause he ended the call with Kisses and hugs.....who else would he be saying that to, if not Nora....I better find my square root before he assumes I'm being nosey.

___"Dorathy ?! Wait !_"__.....he called out.

For the first time he actually pronounced my name in full for some Reason it sounded strange...yeah weirddddd more like it wasn't my name....maybe I was just used to him calling me Dora rather.

___yes???__

____"why the rush???"... going somewhere???___??

"Urmm...___yeah.... Actually I forgot something down stairs.....and by the way, you were on call.... didn't want to butt in..____"

"___That's fine....I hope you're ok though???"____

___Sure....is there a reason as to why I shouldn't be??"___

"___funny !____" just checking.... you know you can be unpredictable.

   ___ " Atleast you're self aware.......lest I forget ......about Mira...I've apologized to her and we are cool."____

_____Ohhhh perfect !..... ___He replied.
   
    It was yet another night .....with everyone dancing to the Caribean music, and afro beats playing in the background..... everyone vibing to the tunes as usual each partner having a convo and consuming whiskey, but there seemed to be something wrong with Stella she has been unusually mute since we started and was keeping a distance from the others.....she seemed scared or should I say careful of her surroundings, another side of her I got to see for the first time......yeah Amira once told me of her story...
Stella's dad being a chronic drinker and never missed an opportunity of abusing her mum he constantly got into problems amidst sleeping with young girls old enough to be his daughter, yet Stella's mum would constantly run around for his bail out only to be rewarded with severe beatings, Domestic violence was one she and her mum witnessed on a daily basis till she grew up as a young lady, oftentimes she  ran to spend the night with a family friend, who infact played a role in ruining her childhood.....Stella had gone to cry her eyes out at his place as usual, she expected he would tap her back and make her stop crying.....but reverse was the case, this faithful day she met a total stranger different from Uncle Bilo, she met a complete monster......he didn't only deflower her....but made  her sexually active at such a young age.....the nightmares (Life)  she went through as a child played back continually in her head like the scene was just a second ago whenever she saw people consuming alcohol.....she despises alcohol and any man who actually sees it as nothing....hence the celebration tonight was a total turnoff for her.

    Chloe was quite drunk, heaven knows how many bottles she must've consumed already and was making a fool of herself...... Michael lifted her off the ground and gently placed her  on his arms as he made exit to avoid further embarrassment.
    They all staggered to their room....I can't say less of Mira,  she was quite intoxicated......but still had her feet fixed to the ground, she kept dancing ...and finally danced her way to her room, alongside her Fiancé...the Afro beat has just gone off....the voices of the drunk-ass was all one could hear....as they kept complaining they needed more hit.
    The Resort was more of a tropical setting....I had so much to view while others danced under the influence of alcohol to their rooms.
   
I walked down the river bank and sat by the fenced wall sipping and draining the juice off the coconut as the River waters went to and fro.
So many image running through my head.... without getting a clear picture of either

____Hey ! All alone???___an unknown voice spoke.
But was countered by another almost immediately, before I could turn around.

____ No she isn't.....she is with me! Any problem????___

____Chill dude... ain't pulling a fight.... I'm leaving already......____ the strange guy replied.

Look how you scared the gentleman away....you should try speaking softly to people.  GUY!....... I added strolling down the other end.

Ohhh really.??? You should be thankful...rather you chose to blame me???.... Do you think that guy was innocent???
If I hadn't come at the right time , who knows what he would've done ???? Dora ! I'm talking to you.....and where are you going to, it's late already...come on let's head back??

_____ohhh please Seb! I can protect myself.....you don't have to do that....will you be there always to chase stalkers away from me??? Will you???_and by the way...this place is totally safe and harmless____
