AT TIMES, people fail to catch the obvious. Even if it's right in front of them, they can't see it.
Vaidehi Pokharel's eyes scanned the journal. Sometimes, her eyebrows rose in what seemed like appreciation and a faint smile made its way on her lips. Sometimes, her pupils glistened with a non-comprehensible emotion.
I munched on Vrishank's handmade financiers and observed his eyes flickering with warmth while he watched Triparna. Although she didn't meet his eyes, it was obvious from the pink spots on her cheeks that she wasn't oblivious to his affectionate stare.
Clearing her throat, Vaidehi interrupted any sort of sappy atmosphere that was created here. Both the love birds looked flustered, but Tri regained her composure faster than Vrishank could.
“This is utter bullshit.” Vaidehi stated firmly.
We asked in unison, “What?”
“This whole story regarding her disappearance.” she huffed. “Remember what her parents said? They were scared. What kind of parents stop an investigation just because they're scared?”
I wiped the food crumbs (if any) from my lips and said, “I freaking know right! And is it really believable that the police bought the story they sold us?”
“The police won't ever believe such rubbish. They would always need evidence. Moreover, Aimée's journal seems to say otherwise.”
It was Triparna's turn to utter a “Huh?”
Vaidehi handed over the journal. “See it for yourself.” she said.
We looked down at the opened page, filled with careless doodles on the top.

I feel like I can't stay in the metropolitan environment all the time and be a tribal rights activist at the same time.

I remember a story that we read in school. It was ‘Niruddesh’ (The Missing) by Premendra Mitra. The boy leaves his home unexpectedly because he wants to explore the beauty of the outer world.
Ç'est un peu relatable.

I asked Erica if I'm wrong for thinking like this.
She said I'm not. But she also told me not to hurry.
“Wait!” interrupted Vrishank. “What is she talking about?”
Triparna put her index finger an inch away from Vrishank's lips and whispered, “Shh! Keep patience bunny boy.”
