Hidden Ch.4

The loud sound of the kettle, water almost pouring out.

Sunoo immediately rush to the kitchen to turn the fire off. He grabbed and wore one of those oven gloves and poured the hot water on the mug, then continuously stir the coffee while he walks to the door.

As he takes a sip of the coffee, he hears a familiar voice behind him.

"What are you drinking?" His sister asks.

"Coffee." Sunoo replies.

"You woke up late again." She says while she eats her lunch. Sunoo just hums as a reply. "I'll guess. You're going at the play-
ground again later are you." Sunoo nods.
"Wow, who would've thought." She says sarcastically.

Time goes by so fast.
Sunoo looks at the clock on the wall
5:30 pm

'I still have half an hour.' He went out to pass time. But just infront of the door.
He could see the sun slightly going down.
While he was sitting on the ground, he felt a soft movement beside him.

"Feeling like the main character?" She says teasingly. "I was born one." He says, smiling. She rolls her eyes, "Anyways, have you finished all your mint choco candies?" Sunoo frowns in confusion. He knew his sister didn't like mint choco, so why is she asking?

"Uh..yeah, why?.."

"Nothing, just missing the taste of it."

"Are you really my sister...?" Sunoo looks at her weirdly. She rolls her eyes once again. Before he realized, he could barely see the sun anymore. "Ah, I have to go."

"What. you have an exact time to go to the playground."

"Duh. Well, see ya."
He walks away waving at her from behind. She watch him slowly fading as he got further and further away.
"Sigh, he's getting taller than me now.."

...

He finally arrives.
He wasn't out of breath this time.

It only took him a second glance to find the boy. "Jungwon!" He shouts. He wasn't really used to calling his name yet, so he felt awkward by the second he used it.

"Sunoo hyung!" He shouts back.
As Sunoo came closer, he asks "Hyung?" He repeats what Jungwon said.

"You look older than me so.. I added 'hyung'." Jungwon hesitates. Sunoo chuckles, "Alright then."

Jungwon handed an ice cream bar to him.
He was surprised but he takes it. He immediately thank him and opens it.
He looks at Jungwon's wrapper from his ice cream. 'Vanilla, huh' It was written on it.

He couldn't help but look at his too.
'Cookies & cream.' Jungwon notice him looking at the wrapper. "Do you not like cookies & cream?" He asks. Sunoo was startled by the sudden question, "Ah, no no. I like it."

"You wanted mint choco did you."

Sunoo laughs at his statement. "Yeah, but I'm thankful for the ice cream." Jungwon takes a bite of his ice cream, "Then, I'll make sure to choose mint choco next time." He chuckles.

...

As they were done with their ice cream, the sun completely set at the same time.
Now it's replaced by the moon.
