I examen the lunch room and make my way over to an empty table. I place my food on the table and sit down. This is my first time eating lunch with out Seth. It's weird, I see people sitting on tables, screaming hugging, and most disgustingly of all, kissing like if there was no tomorrow. To much PDA.I also notice people I never knew came to my school. It's amazing how much I ignore the world when I'm with Seth. I chuckle and peel my banana.
"Why so alone?"
A voice behind me calls out. I turn around and spot a guy leaning against the table behind me with one hand shoved into his pocket and the other hand was swinging his earbud carelessly in the air. His skin was a sort of swirling brown color. His skin is uneven when it comes to colors, and yet I still don't know how he manages to look so flawless. His hair has a casual laid back look and his eyes are light brown. His lips are a little too full, pink, but too full.
"Take a picture, it'll last longer." His cockiness is undoubtedly high.
"Who are you anyway? I've never seen you around." I state and take a bite from my banana.
"My name is Roman."
I laugh out loud and raise my eyebrow. "You're kidding." I assure myself and take a bite of my banana once more.
"No kidding. What's your name?" He acts concerned.
"Brown, Lavender Brown." I try to sound casual.
He smiles a little then rolls his eyes, "Got two colors in your name. Never fear, she ain't got one color, she got two."
"People used to tease me about that."
"I know. I was in your art class. Hey can anyone pass me lavender?" He laughs, "They would say that while talking on the phone. It was funny." He made this weird noise with his mouth. Not attractive.
"It was, at first. But people killed it."
"Well I'm not getting anywhere with this so, you never answered my primary question, Why are you alone?" He asks cocking his head to the side.
"I have no friends today. Seth told me he needed to go the Communication Room for something and told me to find a friend. But I failed, miserably."
Javier laughed. Have I mentioned how beautiful his laugh is. "Aye, that's insulting. I'm your friend."
"Oh, really?" I furrow my eyebrows.
"Yes. We are, come on. Lets have a walk."

Javier and I just ended up sitting on top of the Communication Room rooftop for the rest of lunch. It was calming, peaceful, mesmerizing.

The next day I climb up to the roof again. This time though, I was by myself. When I got up I saw a silhouette standing up in the middle of the roof. It was weird though, the human had egg cartoons taped all over their body. Everywhere. I decide to have a little fun.
"Ah!" I scream. The person jolted and turned around. It was Javier, wrapped on egg cartoons.
"Haven't they ever told you that you shouldn't scare people on rooftops? What are you doing up here anyways, Lavender?" He questions.
"I'm carrying a very obvious lunchbox which may contain a very obvious lunch in it. That very obvious lunch may a include a peanut butter and jam sandwich, I know most people prefer strawberry jelly but I prefer Cranberry jam, that very obvious lunch must be inside this very obvious lunchbox anyway," I open my lunchbox, "oh look. That very obvious lunch is still sitting in my very obvious lunchbox." I smile an sit down taking a bite into my sandwich.
"Why are you eating up here? You want people to think you're weird?"
"Says the woe woe." I roll my eyes.
"What's a woe woe?"
"A person who think they aced looking cool by taping egg cartons to their bodies, for example, you." I explain trying not to laugh.
"I'm not trying to look cool, you are just being- HEY, I'm NOT woe woe."
I look at hip from feet to head.
"You look so utterly ridiculous. What are you trying to do anyways?" I asked.
"I'm trying to jump off this building." Javier answers.
"Are you like on a suicide mission or something?" I ask.
"No. There are a bunch of yoga mats at the bottoms of this building. I wrapped myself in egg cartons because it helps protect my body. Plus I have bags of baby powder and shaving cream filled in where the egg cartoon eggs are supposed to be." Javier leans over the side and shakes his head. "Read it on Wikipedia, anyway."
I fold my arms, "and you believe Wikipedia. Javier, any fool can go on Wiki and write down anything and can make them believe you just by using big words." I say.
"Right. So are you going to hold the camera while I jump down?"
"No way, Woe woe. And stop it before I report you to the office."
Javier scrunched his eyebrows together, "You can't do that."
"Of course I can. I can go down here screaming that there is someone crazy on the roof." I say.
"They wouldn't believe you." He tries to argue.
I look at him head to foot and laugh. "Have you looked in the mirror recently?"
"Look, you can't report me because that will blow the chance of me getting my dream job." Javier holds his hands out carefully.
"What's your dream job?"
"Does it matter?"
"No. But it will help with the story."
"It's a long story." He says.
"I like stories. And we have twenty-four minutes kid. I have plenty if time."
"Okay look. I got accepted to work in an animation studio. I sent an application last week and got accepted yesterday. The problem with that is that I wasn't supposed to get accepted, okay? I don't want to go, but i have to." He talks really fast, almost like he was wasting time.
"But you got accepted and it's your dream job... Why don't you want to go? I'm not following you on that." I question.
"Because," he points out like its something obvious, "What if I go and they tell me that I'm good but I'm actually not? What if I screw up and I have to abandon everything and I'm only going to have to blame myself for actually thinking I was good." Javier sighs and sits down.
"You're putting all negativity on yourself before anyone else can put it on you? Clever." I say finishing up my sandwich and dusting out my fingers.
"Plus," I say. "You still haven't explained why you are being a woe woe."
"Well woman I would get to it if you would stop putting all this pressure on me." He says putting a tone to the ending.
"Well someone has a shiny personality."
Javier stands up and run to the ledge of the building, and did something I wouldn't have expected after the little talk we had,
He jumped.
