A few months later. While I was on a mission, Gaara felt like he needed to get revenge on the people who were scared of him and tried killing him. I came back to him crying. I immediately hugged him.
Me: Gaara, what's the matter
He pushed me away.
Gaara: Stay away from me, I'm a monster.
I hugged him again. His one tail beast cut my arm. I groaned in pain. I hugged him tighter and I gently kissed his cheek. Then the one tail was mad. I started singing a lullaby that I once heard from someone. The beast within him calmed down.
Kankuro and Temari: Gaara!
I was rocking him in my arms singing. He fell asleep.
Kankuro: Will he be okay
Temari: What about one tail?
Me: I can feel it calming down
Temari: No one has ever done that
Kankuro: Aren't you scared of him?
Me: Of course not, you're just scared of the misunderstood. I'm going to take him to his room.
I took him to his room and laid him in his bed. He had a fever and I nursed him until I fell asleep myself at end of his bed. I slowly woke up to him apologizing and crying
Gaara: I'm sorry
Me: Don't apologize
I opened my eyes.
Gaara: But
I put a finger on his lips
Me: Shhh
I stood up and I hugged him. He stopped crying. Rasa came in.
Rasa: Annabel, I forbid you from seeing this boy
Me: Why?
Rasa: Because the beast might kill you.
Me: I don't care
He was shocked. I frowned.
Me: I'm not I'm not going to let that happen, if anything, I will help Gaara control the one tail and it will not kill me.
I smiled. I argued with his father and when Rasa gave up, he left the room.
Gaara: Thank you
I looked at him and smiled.
Me: I was hoping your father would see you as his son and not some "monster" because you're not a monster, you're someone who will be an amazing shinobi
Gaara: Thank you
We continued talking.
