As people started to file out of the great hall Elsie stood from her seat, "I'm off to detention, don't wait up. I don't know when I'll be done," she said to her friends.
"McGonagall didn't say?" Mila asked still eating her food.
"Nope."
"She can't keep you too long though." Sage said looking disgusted over at Mila chewing with her mouth open.
"Hopefully not, cause I have to study for that potions test on Monday," Elsie asked looking around at the teachers table, McGonagall was still there.
"Elsie, there's this thing called the weekend, I don't know if you've heard of it or not?" Sage grinned.
"Ha ha," Elsie rolled her eyes.
"McGonagall's getting up," Mila pointed out.
"Alright that's my cue, bye." Elsie left her fiends but as she was reaching there doors of the great hall she found herself joined by someone.
"Hey there Masterson," James Potter grinned down to her, walking next to her on her right. She smiled politely up at him. Had he always been this tall?
"Hey," she replied simply. She didn't know what to say, they weren't friends, they'd just talked a couple of times.
"So what are you in for?" Sirius Black asked now joining Elsie's left side. "Please something cool."
"Believe it or not Sirius but not everyone thinks breaking the rules is cool," Remus Lupin joined now next to Sirius.
"Whatever Moony."
"It's just cause he thinks he's cool and we break rules all the time," Peter Pettigrew had now joined and was next to James. Merlin they really did come as a package deal. Elsie wasn't sure what she was supposed to say, she'd never talked to them properly before yet they didn't seem to find the interaction as awkward as she did. Probably because they were talking to each other and not her.
"Shut up Peter," Sirius said grinning. "Also anyone up for sneaking into the kitchens after this and getting some food?"
"You know where the kitchens are?" Elsie asked confused. He nodded forewing his brows as if to question her confusion. "Not many people outside of Hufflepuff know where they are. So, how do you?"
"Oh trust me we've got our secrets," James said winking at her and the other's just smirked at each other.
