As soon as the portrait door opened to the Gryffindor common room the noise hit the girls instantly. The music was blaring loudly, thank merlin for the silencing charm, Elsie thought. Lily joined them quickly and kissed Sage in greeting.
"Hey, you guys made it!" She grinned.
"Hey, you guys made it!" James' voice echoed as he joined the little group. He seemed taller than Elsie remembered. She smiled at him. "And you brought the best friends."
"Yeah, Sage, Mila, James," Elsie awkwardly introduced them. "This place is crowded."
James looked around confused, obviously having not noticed it. There were people in every corner of the room, either drinking, dancing, laughing or in the case of most of the seventh years, making out horrendously. Elsie made a disgusted face when she saw that.
"Yeah, suppose it is. You guys want a drink?" James asked turning back to the girls.
"Yes, hit me please," Mila said as James showed them to the drinks table. Mila and Sage poured themselves some in a red plastic cup, Elsie eyed the drinks.
"Do you have something not very strong?" She asked, she didn't love getting flat our drunk but she liked drinking a bit.
"Uhh... Yeah, here," James fumbled around with some bottles looking for something until he finally landed on one and handed her a cup of the liquid. Elsie took it.
"How do I know you didn't poison this?" She half jokingly asked him.
"Remus put a spell on the drinks that if they're tampered with they'll turn solid," Lily explained. Elsie smiled and took a sip of her drink.
"Where's the rest of "the boys"?" Elsie asked looking around. James shrugged and was about to speak before Lily cut in.
"Remus and Sirius went to get some air and Peter..." Lily drifted off looking around for him.
"THERE'S A PARTY IN THE USA!" A loud (and most likely drunk) Peter sung over the noise, standing up on a table over all the people. "PRONGS THERE YOU ARE!" he shouted again and started making their way to them.
"Peter where the fuck did you put my wand?" Sirius shouted from across the room having spotted them.
"It's in our room!"
"Alright!"
Peter reached them and grinned widely. "HI!" he shouted.
