Lauren's POV
Today is the day the exchange student is arriving. I'm happy about it but I gotta say that when my parents first told me they were entering the Student Exchange Program I got a little disappointed. I mean, I am not good enough for them?! But then I got really excited when they said that actually my meaningless brother (my words) was going to participate the program. After a few months everything was set up. Chris was going to spend six months in Brazil and in exchange a girl name Cabello Camila was coming. Weird name, but I guess that's how Brazilian name their children.
"So, Laur, I know it's hard to be without your brother..." my dad started the 'don't be rude with strangers' speech.
"Yeah, I already miss his "sticky" socks everywhere in the house." I sighed while texting Harry. I can't believe their giving me this speech. I'm the nicest person in the area.
"Honey, please. It's not your brother's fault if his feet sweats a lot." My mom said looking at the rear view of the car, retouching her make up. She wanted to look like the perfect mother to Cabello Camila. I'm still not used to this name, by the way.
"Mhm, I'm sure they get sticky because of his sweat. You guys are so naive..." I whispered the last part because I don't want to get in trouble on the last week of the summer break.
"We are here and we're early!" My dad said parking on the airport parking lot. "Laur, you can walk around while she doesn't gets here but keep your phone around you."
"Oh! I was just about to throw my phone away!" I pretended to be surprise as we climbed off the car.
"Lauren, behave." My mom said with a bored face, taking my dad's hand and walking to airport entrance.

As I passed by some stores at the airport I couldn't help but notice a library shop. Should I buy her an English dictionary? I don't want her to make me look like a fool at my school. Don't get me wrong, I'm excited about living with a girl of my age, but yes, I'm a little scared. What if she's ugly or doesn't know how to speak proper English? What if she is a sassy bitch or what if she's so perfect she will make my parents and friends forget about me?
I don't know. I should just buy it.
"That will be U$20,00." The guy said checking me out from the other side of the cash register. He had cute wavy brown hair, dark eyes and a softly toned skin that was a bit red on his cheeks. I think he has my age. He was also wearing a hang loose necklace. This guy must be some kind of surfer.
"Oh. Okay." I gave him the money. "Working so you can afford your girlfriend?" collecting some info, just in case.
"No one wants to date a guy who works at the airport's library." He said smiling at me. Okay, he is free. Time to flirt.
"But a lot would like to date a beach boy." I bit my lip and stared at him. People said it worked because of my eyes.
"Oh. Y-yeah. How did you know I surf?"
"You're not the one who can check people out." I winked at him.
He let out an embarrassed chuckle and gripped his hand on the balcony, looking fixedly at the bag with Cabello's dictionary, clearly thinking about something. I was just about to grab the bag and leave because I was disappointed with his reaction to flirty Lauren but he took a deep breath and looked back at me for a few seconds and then finally said:
"Can I have your number? Or maybe your name?"
"I'm Lauren Jauregui. Look me up on Facebook and then maybe I'll give you my number."
"Great!" he said a little too excited "I mean, good. I'm Liam. Liam Payne."
I smiled at how his name matched his face. I think he was expecting something else but I took the bag from the balcony and left with a smirk on my face. Gotta play hard to get.
From far away I could see my dad with his arms crossed and my mom with her hands on her hips, giving me a sever look. Shit, I forgot to check on my phone. They were already opening their mouths to let out their anger but Cabello saved me for the first time. The lady with a Rotary uniform approached them to say Cabello's plane had arrived. My dad waved his hands asking me to come closer and mouthed: "She's here."
The four of us walked to the Gate F and waited for the so expected girl show up. Two minutes. My parents kept asking the lady about how they should treat the girl. Four minutes. My parents were discussing what should we do on the first "family night". Five minutes. They were now looking at me waiting for a suggestion.
"Pizza?" I said not really sure of what they were expecting but I guess they liked it because my dad nodded and mom screeched, they were so excited about their 'new daughter'.
"Here she comes." The Rotary lady said and my parents turned themselves to the gate blocking my vision. I didn't notice how many people had already got there, waiting for their sons, parents, siblings, cousins, friends or whoever was coming from Brazil to meet them. I couldn't see who was coming out of the gate. I got on my tiptoes and even tried to push a tall guy aside so I could see something but he just gave me a look that scared the shit out of me. I stepped back, almost giving up of trying to see something but then I saw an old lady on my mom's left side, looking a little lost.
"Ma'am, the Gate F is over there." I lied pointing to somewhere on the airport.
"But the gentleman said..."
"Well, he was wrong. Now go there find your grandchildren or something." I said pulling her lightly and taking her place between the people holding signs with some other people's names. Who are you, Cabello? I thought to myself looking at all the people coming out of the Gate F. I pocked my mom's arm.
"Where is she?"
My mom pocked the Rotary lady and asked the same question I did. The lady shrugged and was about to take her phone to probably call her boss but then she glanced at the Gate and smiled.
"There is she. Camila!" the lady yelled and after a few seconds a girl came in our direction.
Oh... wow, Cabello.
