He was and still is the quiet one in our group, when we started sleeping together he had made it clear that we would never be more than that and the fool in me thought otherwise. “Where is Sobs” there was only 3 of us nathi we had just got back from freshening up and just then Sobs walked in with his wife and they looked like they were disagreeing on something but they still held each other’s hands. Truth is I wanted that, that should be me.

 The intercom rang signalling the Uber eats guy but to my surprise Olo walked in with the food Silo literally jumped over the couch running to his wife. Pie walked in carrying what seems to be a tray of alcohol while Nino had a plastic filled with heaven knows, Nobu walked last looking smart as always. Nobu likes girls and her family said it before she did. Her dad is a respected Prof who does not take shit from anyone but he is so soft Nobu loves that man I tell you. She greeted everyone then walked to me with her signature cognac " ndlovukazi" she hugged me then joined the others while I prepared sides for the meat that was all over the place. A few minutes later I was done just waiting for the meat the boys were preparing, "my love please tell me when the meat is ready" it looked so good I'm sure he saw me cause he took one plate and put in 2 pieces "masitye mnkam since everyone seems to be busy"  we sat there until the meat was ready then left with the 4 big bowls.

For a week the hospital was shit busy since the accident and I couldn't even take time to look at my husband, the doctors quarters were full since everyone was working so I decided to go to Sobuhles office for a nap just 30 minutes an hour tops.

"Dr Ndithi the case is beyond us, we've tried  calling Dr Sanda but she is away for her lunch break of which I don't understand who leaves in such a state that we are in" "Dr how long has she been up" "15 minutes Dr but we can't communicate with her so we can't treat her or even access her progress" as we walked to my office the matron appeared running to us "Molweni has anyone seen uMalhahla" I looked confused while the other looked annoyed "she has gone out for the her lunch hour" it was the matron turn to be confused "she said she's coming to this side 20 minutes ago hay man uMalhahla" i still could not get it but I walked into my office to find my wife peacefully sleeping in my couch with her shoes on, I took them off and fetched a fleece blanket to cover her up for the time being until her lunch was over, there was a knock and the matron walked in but stood still when she saw Sibs "ohw umntanam" she held her chest smiling I just looked at her but Sibs was already turning to wake up "molweni mha" she walked to me I've to admit it she looked shit tired, her eyes had rings and she looked like she was dragging her self "it's been so long ndingakuboni" she rested her head on my chest I just rubbed her head kissing it in the process we even forgot we had company until she laughed "this is a story for another day, Dr Sanda I'm demanding you to go home yhini mntanam awubulelanga mntu Dr Ndithi please drop her off on your way home" I just nodded.
