Two Hearts

Part 2 - Nerve-Racking First Day

After making half way through the day, it was time for lunch. Where was he going to sit. He saw one of his friends waving to him, it was Zee. "Joshua! Over here idiot!" she waved getting his attention. As he walked toward the table, he couldn't help but notice how big the cafeteria was. Has it really been that long of a summer that he had forgot how big this room was? Nevermind that.

He sat down, and started to eat silently while the rest of the table chats away. Dharia couldn't help but notice how quiet he was. "Hey, are you alright? You seem really quiet." She asked. He sighed, and let out a fake smile. "Everything's going great, I'm just a bit tired. Sleep schedules a bit fucked up." He replies. "Oh okay.." Dharia answers knowing that that may not have been the truth and is unsatisfied with the answer

Just then, Yshell walks towards the table, Joshua noticing almost choking on his food. Everytime he sees her, she gets more elegant. His stomach filled with butterflies and she just stares at him. He notices that he has to move over for her to sit. Oh god. She's sitting next to me. Again. He tries to finish up his lunch but couldn't swallow anything. His mouth was dry and his face was red.

"Hey you guys! Wanna hangout afterschool? It's a Friday!" Zee asks. The whole table thinks for awhile and then agrees on the idea. Everyone but Joshua. "Uh. I don't know.." He mumbles. 'Why's Joshua acting so strange, he's never like this. He's down for anything'  Zee questions.

"Fine..I'll go. Only cause I'm bored." It was obvious that it wasn't cause he was bored. Because he wanted to see Yshell. He wanted to hangout with her and become her friend.

After School..

They all meet up at a cafe. "I hope you don't mind, I brought Armando."  Asked Dharia. "Girl, no worries, I brought Wayne too." Mars replies (Marceline). It had seemed that everyone except Joshua was going out with someone. Well, thankfully not everyone. Luckily Zee and Angel don't have anyone. But still, it was awkward.

"Hey Joshua, what's wrong?" Angel asked him. Joshua played it off with a fake smile. Though his best friend knew something was off. "Uh, Joshua, come outside real quick. I need to talk to you about...stuff." Angel asked. "Mhm, sure, what are you guys gonna talk about?" Zee asked purposely being annoying. Angel stammering looking for an excuse to not look suspicious, "Uhh, to help me ask my crush out!" Zee looked at him with a blank face. "Okay- you sure you're not lying?" Angel getting nervous, "Yea! Come on Joshua!"

"Why'd you call me outside? It's cold." Joshua asks. "I know you're not okay." Angel replies. "No shit Sherlock." It was silent for a moment. "Is- Is it about Yshell? You have to get over her. Or atleast ask her out."

"I'll see." Joshua replies.
