Ever since I was a teenager I wanted to be a famous youtuber. I made a channel back then but ended up privating the videos. I'd been applying for different acting jobs for awhile, most of them being youtube related.

"y/n!! You're gonna be late for your interview." My roommate, Sierra yelled from the kitchen.

Oh yeah, today was the day I've been waiting for. FOR LITERALLY YEARS. Yep, i got an interview for smosh. SMOSH. I wasn't a die hard Smosh fan, but whenever I saw their videos I always enjoyed them!! Plus I watched a lot to prepare for my interview.

"I'll be there in a second!" I yelled back to Sierra.

I checked myself out in my full length mirror. I was in love with my outfit. This is what i was wearing, with a dark green oversized blazer over it.

I walked downstairs to see Sierra doing work on her laptop.

"Bye Sierra!"

"Wait, do you have everything you need? Are you forgetting anything?" Yes, she had a tendency to be the mom friend.

"Yes!! I'm good. I'll see you later." I told her, grabbing my keys.

"Good luck, y/n!! You'll do great!" She said, smiling at me. She knew how excited I was for this.

"Thanks, bye!"

"Bye!"

The Smosh office was about 40 minutes away. I listened to TV Girl on the way there. I got there and walked in, there were a few other people in the waiting room. I checked the time and i was there a few minutes late, 11:06. Shit. I needed to get better at my time management. Right after I sat down a man came walking down the hallway.

"y/n?"

"Yeah!" I said, standing up.

"Right this way." I followed him into a separate room where there were four other people. I only recognized Garrett from the Garrett Cam in the Eat it or Yeet it videos. I didn't mention it though.

"y/n! It's nice to meet you!" One of them said.

"It's nice to meet you all, too!" I shook all of their hands and learned their names. Well, learned them for a second. I still only really knew Garrett. The interview started off asking about past jobs, the kind of comedy i could bring to the channel, a lot of them trying to get to know me.

"So, y/n, we're going to have you do a cold read of a script from an old video, don't worry about it being perfect—it's a cold read. You'll be reading Kimmy's part, and we'll be reading the other parts." Okay, I got this, right? I could do a cold read.

"Okay, great." I read for the part and I thought it went pretty well. I stumbled on my words a couple times but they were all laughing which boosted my confidence.

For the last part of the interview they had me improv a bit which I thought didn't go the best, I wasn't really expecting them to ask for me to do that. On the way out they said they would email me in about a week if i got a second interview, which is where i'd get to meet Ian and some of the other Smosh members to see if I'd be a good fit.

6 days later

"SIERRA!!" I yelled even though she was sitting right next to me on the couch.

"Oh my god, what?" She looked so worried.

"I got the follow up email from Smosh." I said, covering my mouth.

"Did you get the second interview??"

"I haven't opened it yet. I'm too scared. I really want this."

"Girl—read it! Now!!" She jumped over the couch to read it with me.

"Okay okay, here it is... 'Hi y/n, we're reaching out again because we want you to come back for a chemistry test with the cast!' OH MY GOSH!!"

"y/n!! you did it!!" sierra said, celebrating.

"i mean i don't have the job yet...but i mean, i kinda do, right??"

"seems like it to me," she said, raising her arms.

The rest of the email outlined where and when the chemistry test would be. They gave me a few days that would work so I could schedule it. I emailed back and said that this Sunday would work great.

I felt like I was getting my hopes up. What if I didn't fit well with the rest of the group? I had to remind myself that I'm a likeable, funny, outgoing person. One of my life mottos is fake it till you make it and hey, it's gotten me this far.
