About 2 years later...
"Baby, come here for a second..." a now adult Clay said, murmuring to the shorter adult mad named George.
"Is something wrong? I'll go fix it if you want-" George asks as he joins Clay at the very top of the flower field.
"No, everything is wonderful and perfect.. just like you." Clay grins. George blushes, looking down at his shoes.
"Since we've just finished senior year, I wanted to do something I wish I was able to do when we first met..." Clay mumbles.
"What?" George tilts his head, looking back up at his boyfriend.
"When I first met you, almost immediately I thought that you were the one— the only one for a stupid kid like me," Clay beams, "you were just this adorable and innocent boy who saw everything as something so good.. so beautiful. You always checked up on me and you would laugh at my trashy jokes. I have never met someone so perfect." Clay whispers. Tears begin to make their way into his eyes, turning them glassy in a way. George giggles, meeting his forest green eyes.
"There was a package... dropped by your house once. It was raining I think... you were as beautiful as ever. A while ago I had ordered something because I knew one day I could use it.. just one day. It's funny to me because I kind of expected it to be used like in ten years from now, but seeing it be used today.. just about two years later, is shocking." Clay breathily laughs. He reaches up and places his hand on George's cheek, wiping away a stray tear with his thumb.
"I want to— I want to spend the rest of my life with you, George found. I want you to be mind and for me to be yours forever. I want to be able to never let go of your hand and to be able to be in your presence every second. I want to hold you when you have nightmares or when you're sad, I want to listen to your voice and take care of you no matter what. I know this may be too early and you may not want this em but I— I want this to last forever, George, I want us to last forever." Clay whispers. He closes his eyes, afraid to cry in front of him.
George smiles and takes his other hand, wiping the other tears away. He leaves his hands against Clay's face, brown eyes dilated as he focuses on him.
"Marry me, George." Clay says before he brings George into a gentle kiss, smiling against the other boy'a lips.
"Yes." George mumbles kissing him back.
Finally, he could call flower boy his own forever.
