It had been a whole month since you came to Japan. The culture shock had caused you minor issues as you had run through scenarios in your head on how to properly handle them.

At least in your home country, Japan was known for the people being very polite.

After having gone to the grocery store for the host family after Haruka came down with the flu, you had thought the young man at the register was just being nice. Maybe he just had something in his eye?

Flirting was nothing new to you, but you did have a hard time seeing it when it happened. Back at your old school, there were boys and a few girls had tried to get your attention. While you wouldn't say you're putting on a total fake front for this new school, you definitely were more vocal to people about how they annoyed you.

Peace and quiet.

You treasured these. You hoped that one day, you'd find someone who also treasured these aspects of life.

When you left the store, you had almost ran into a woman dressed as a typical house wife.

"Sorry dear!" Her smile was quite radiant and you couldn't help but stare. Her blue green eyes reminded you of something that you couldn't quite think of.

"I should be sorry miss. I wasn't paying attention," you said with a slight bow.

"Oh 'miss'? You're too kind dear. Oh you drop this!" She haulted your movements as she gave you a small coin purse that must have dropped out of the pocket of your jacket.

"Thank you so much!" You waved to her as she made her way into the grocery.

Your next encounter with this kind woman would happen in two days time. Haruka's parents were now sick too, leaving you to shop again.

Turning the corner, you almost bumped into her again. She was lugging around a heavy shopping basket. Striking up a conversation after getting on your tip tops to grab a can of soup for her, you learned her name was Holly.

"Oh you are just the sweetest. I wish my Jotaro would find a girl like you," Holly said. You paused in your stride when you heard her remark about Jotaro.

So this is his mom? They are nothing alike...was your thought until you saw the male in question round the corner. He must have seen his mom through the window, lugging that heavy basket. While she fawned over his sweet action, he growled at her.

"Good grief," you heard him say. He had caught sight of you standing in the isle, his eyes flashed. Holly waved at you, causing Jotaro's expression to soften a bit.

Who would have guess his plan worked so well. He could tell that his mother liked you already.

One step done.

Well, on the outside he is a bit rough, but on the inside he seems to care. You thought as Holly exclaimed she needed one more thing. Jotaro stood off to the side as you brought your own basket up.

"Hi there," the same boy from before rung up your items. While he spoke about whatever, your mind was wrapped up in running through your list.

I think I got everything.. oh the money. You counted out to the total to your best and put it on the tray. The boy seemed a bit antsy to grab the money, bumping hands with yours. Your brows furrowed as it almost felt like he purposely rubbed his hand against yours. The contact was brief as the boy yanked his hand back, spilling some of the coins onto the ground. He apologized while picking them up.

Was my hand too clammy? I have been around sick people... hopefully I don't get sick. Your thoughts were nowhere on the same level as the boy and the tall teen who loomed behind you.
