This was it. This was the day that everyone at the district was waiting for. Nervously.

I was nervous as well, because I was one of the main people that had been assigned to this mission. A few days ago, we were stuck on this mission. We were making absolutely no progress. Sergeant Arlete thought that we had to drop this mission, but then we finally got something.

We had never seen his face before, not even once. We had tons and tons of pictures of his father, but none of him.

When I say 'him', I mean Levi Ezekiel. Mafia boss of South Korea, yes, there are other dangerous mafia bosses around the world, but all of the districts around New York had been focusing on him. He was feared and known in the city of New York.

Suddenly, I hear firing. Everywhere around me. My eyes focus to the people that were firing the shots. And I saw a bullet headed straight for me.

———

"Zira." Sergeant Arlete whispered, placing her hand softly on my shoulder.

"Zira!" She repeated herself, noticing that I didn't hear her. Then, I finally snapped out of my thoughts.

I caught my breath. "You alright?" She continued to put on her bulletproof vest.

I nodded. I was scared. Really scared. Everyone around the district was scared, just as scared as I was.

"Come on, start packing up, we're leaving for the location in a bit." Sergeant Arlete sounded from the bathroom.

"Yes, ma'am." I replied, doing what she told me to. I proceeded to put on my bulletproof gear, and then put on a deep, wine red dress, just like my hair, which was a royal red. Under my dress, I had a gun strap, on my right thigh.

I tucked my gun into the gun strap, adjusting it a little, to fit my slim thigh better.

I was all ready. I had earphones, except they weren't earphones. They were in-ear communication devices, that would help me talk to the other police officers.

———

I put on my red heels as-well, and I stepped outside, my best friend at the district looked me up and down. "Well, you look absolutely stunning, babe," she said. She always called me babe and I loved it.

I chuckled, her compliment helped me loosen up a little bit, but still, at the back of my head, I was still nervous. Extremely nervous.

I sat down, next to Tina, my best friend at the district. She always made me fall in love with myself, and that's what I loved about her.

My leg trembled as we approached the location. "We're here." Sergeant Arlete announced, and I gulped. Somebody was definitely getting seriously injured today.

The negative thoughts came pouring in.

Sergeant Arlete walked over to me, placing her hand on my shoulder, like she did in the changing room. "You've got this." She looked at me reassuringly, and I felt a wave of comfort. She was like my mother.

"We're all set, Zira." One of the other police officers announced, and I nodded.

"All you need to do now is to come out of there alive and with Levi Ezekiel." He said again.

Was that supposed to make me feel any better?
