The music roared from outside of the night club. I took a deep breath and everyone that was standing outside of the car got inside of the car again.

I walked to the front doors of the night club and I stepped inside. Music was blasting, the club reeked of alcohol and vomit. I made a disgusted looking face.

I just had to have eyes on the target; Levi Ezekiel. I couldn't drink any alcohol, but I really wanted some.

A beer never hurt anyone, right? I scoffed at myself in disappointment, but I walked over to the bartender, who was standing in front of a rack of many bottles, which was a nice decoration to the bar.

I sat down at the bar stool, next to some folks who were standing, and had vomit all over them. So that's where the smell was coming from, I thought.

The bartender walked up to me.

"What can I get for you today?" She smiled softly at me and that struck my stomach with butterflies. She was cute.

"Could I get a beer?" I tilted my head as I glanced at the menu right above me.

She nodded and ran off to get an exclusive beer brand. She soon come back and I thanked her.

"How much does this cost?" I inspected the expensive looking beer bottle and she replied with a chuckle and continued to talk.

"It's on the house, ma'am!" She said proudly and I was shocked. An expensive beer bottle like this was on the house?

"No— I can't, ma'am.." I replied shyly.

"Oh, just take it, it's on the house, as I said." She said, as she opened the cash box. She left it open for a few seconds as she was collecting cash from other customers. I quickly slid in a twenty dollar bill.

I hurried off to find a comfortable space to sit down and just sip my beer.

Should I really be drinking on a mission?

I thought to myself. Well, I already had the beer bottle in my hand. Might as well.

———

The bartender went to the staff room, and tapped her ear. "She's here, boss." She whispered and there was a reply on the other end.

"She has red hair, a red dress, and red high heels — I gave her the expensive beer brand, as you told me to." She spoke again.

"Okay, thank you– if she finishes her beer, bring her another beer." The voice on the other end said, and the bartender nodded.

"Yes sir." She replied and took her index finger off of her ear. She proceeded to leave the staff room and get back to her job.

———

I was sipping my beer, when I heard static in my headphones. "Zira, you there?" I heard Sergeant Arlete's voice.

I sprung up from the couch, downing my beer. "Yup, I'm here." I whispered, so the people around me didn't suspect me.

"What was that?– Are you drinking?!" Sergeant Arlete's voice sounded annoyed.

"What?— N-No, it was just water." I chuckled nervously. I really shouldn't have drank.

"Right, how are things on your end?" Sergeant Arlete changed the topic quickly.

"Everything's alright, I haven't seen Levi yet." I glanced around. "But there is someone that I have been suspecting.." I whispered.

Sergeant Arlete sat up, in the van. "Who?" Sergeant asked.

"This bartender girl.. I mean she just gave me a high quality and really expensive beer!..." Shit- I said that I was drinking water.. Shit!

"So you did drink..– Okay, just keep inspecting and report back to me once you spot Levi." Sergeant Arlete seemed very disappointed in me.

"Copy." I replied, and the line cut. I sat back down, taking a deep breath. Man, that beer was delicious! Maybe I should go ask for another one — while inspecting the bartender, of course!
