The sky was still dull when Alena woke up that morning and the rain continued to poor but it didn't bother her she was looking forward to the chance of a new school.
She would enrol at Forks high school today and be a completely new person to who she was in Phoenix.
Charlie and Bella were already downstairs when she finally came down.
"Hey, how'd you sleep kiddo?"
"Pretty good thanks Dad, slept pretty sound after yesterday".
"That's good to hear" Charlie smiled and popped a piece of toast in his mouth, before moving towards the door and grabbing his usual work gear.
"Bye girls have a good first day Alena, I'm sure it will be super you too Bella"
"Thanks dad, stay safe" he smiled as he always did when one of the girls said this.
Bella muttered her goodbyes. Charlie shut the door and walked towards the cruiser.
"So Bells I noticed a Chevy outside assuming it was yours and wondered if I could ride with you today?" Since Alena had no means of transport just yet.
"Course Lena I was going to offer it anyway" Bella sounded so sincere it was comforting to know her sister had welcomed her back with such open arms after all this time.
"Thanks Bells I couldn't wish for a better sister" maybe this was going to be easier than she thought.
The rest of breakfast was spent in silence a few conversations here and there but mainly just listening to the rain.
One thing the Swans did well was a comfortable silence, it's like it ran in the family.
The drive was nice with Bella this morning they spoke about what they've been up to any important gossip they missed and things like that, she truly had missed having her twin around.
School was definitely daunting people didn't half stare probably because in such a small town a bit of variety was fascinating, after the curious stares died down it was fine people were pretty nice actually.
In the passing periods of first and second a boy with greasy black hair and a pimple covered face pounced on Alena.
"Hey your Alena Swan right Bella's sister? Im Eric your personal tour guide, school journalist and your very own shoulder to cry on"
He certainly was a lot to handle at 10am in the morning but his friendliness was still very much appreciated.
"Yep that's me, it's lovely to meet you Eric" she said putting her hand out to shake which he very animatedly shook in return.
