The sun had just started to set, awarding the sky with a golden glow. You could see a girl wearing her school uniform standing in front of the railing. She wore black shoes with a pine-colored jacket. In the pockets, you could see a few envelopes written by Dime.
Dime tried to remember what happened. She felt as if she had just woken up from a deep slumber. She didn't know why but felt a sudden urgency to see her mother.
Dime ran towards the opened terrace door and climbed down the staircase. She went down 15 floors before she finally reached her front door. Her legs were tired from running so much, her chest felt heavy, but that didn't matter. She caught her breath and opened the front door and there was the living room. The old coffee-stained sofa and circle coffee table. She could smell the strong scent of the air freshener, which she had hated so much.
"Welcome back"
Dime turned towards the familiar voice. It was as if it had been years since she had heard her.
"Dime is that you?" A lady poked her head out to see Dime standing with a tears running down her eyes.
"Dime?" The woman walked towards her and places her hands on both sides of Dimes cheeks before asking, "Are you ok?"
"Yes, I'm perfectly fine"
"Then why are you crying?"
"Cause I'm finally home. Mom?"
"Yes?"
"I'm back"
Her mother smiled at Dime.
"Oh you silly girl, come here" Her mother said opening her arms wide. Dime smiled and gladly accepted the hug.
"This is my home sweet home"
