Three day have passed since the incident, you been wanting to talk about "it" with him, but Clyde always found a reason to be busy or just makes an excuse as to why he couldn't talk at that time. You could not help but feel the tension, yet here you were, another night at the bar where Clyde was, only talking to you if you needed something. The silence was thankfully not completely silent with Sam keeping you company tonight.
"So, this girl wants bangs, and I couldn't let her do that to herself, she would look horrible in bangs and someone had to say something, right? I refuse to think I'm in the wrong about this." You happily take what you can get right now as you didn't want to do inventory all alone with only Dolly Parton on the jukebox for company.
Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene
I'm begging of you please don't take my man
Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene
Please don't take him just because you can"Sam you sweep the floors, she probably didn't appreciate someone who's not a stylist telling her that, and I know exactly how you said it too cause you can't help the tone you got." You say with a laugh.
"But if it was me, I would want someone to stop me from getting bangs when I clearly don't have the face shape for it."
You begin to laugh as you try to explain to Sam "Ok, but-"
"Hey Y/n can you do that hair thing for me again?" Immediately you look up to see Clyde in a nice button up and black jeans. He looked good until you remembered he wasn't looking nice for you.
Your beauty is beyond compare
With flaming locks of auburn hair
With ivory skin and eyes of emerald green
Your smile is like a breath of spring
Your voice is soft like summer rain
And I cannot compete with you
Jolene"Uh, yeah of course." You bring a seat behind the bar and pat it for Clyde to sit in.
"Looking pretty snazzy there Clyde, what's the occasion?" Sam pipes up. "Got a hot date?" You can see Clyde giving you a quick glance before sitting down on the chair.
"Uh, yeah. Going on my first date with Tippi." He says as you start brushing his hair. Feeling eyes on you, you look over towards Sam who is smirking. You stick your tongue out at her while she responds with a short loud laugh which gets Clyde's attention. Clyde looks over and Sam quickly looks away as she takes another sip of her beer. You move Clyde's head to face forward.
After a silence, you finally finish his hair and look back at the results, adjusting spots that need to be fixed. "All done." Clyde gets up and looks at a reflective beer sign and turns toward you.
"Thank you Y/n, it looks great as usual." You nod as you both stand there and look at each other for a minute before he finally walks away toward the office saying nothing else to you.
"Wow, that was hella awkward and I'm not even a part of it, what was that about?"
You sigh as you lower your head down defeatedly. "Okay I'm going to tell you something and you have to promise you won't tell." Sam looks around and back at you.
