01 | MEETING THE TWINS

Pietro and Wanda Maximoff both awoke to the rumbling of the SHIELD jet landing.

"You two back on Earth?" Clint asked from the pilot's seat while they both hummed drowsily in response.

Pietro gazed out of the front window to see a large expanse of field surrounding a long driveway, a barn and a massive forest behind the house, the twins marvelling at the farmhouse. It was beautiful.

"I called ahead while you two were asleep, so my wife knows we're coming, and so does my eldest daughter. But they probably didn't tell the other kids yet, so we'll have to see how this goes," Clint announced.

Tony was renovating the Avengers facility and wanted to offer the twins to stay at his place but because of their rocky relationship, Clint offered his place instead for the summer and the two agreed to stay until the end of summer.

Clint flicked a switch and the jet powered down. "Alright, come on. Let's go meet them. If they haven't spotted the massive jet in the driveway yet, I'm taking them to see an eye doctor."

The two nodded and headed for the ramp while Clint pressed a button and flipped a switch. The entrance/exit ramp lowered to the ground with a hiss, clanking upon impact and unfolded a bit to make a smooth walkway.

Clint began the descent, looking excited, and he was excited to meet his family again and finally have a whole summer off with them. The archer waited for the twins to make their way down the ramp and then stayed by their side as they walked the distance from the jet to the house.

The archer had parked the vehicle on a wide gap in the field, so it wasn't a long walk. They reached the farmhouse quickly and shouts sounded through the screen door.

"Dad's home!"

"Mommy, Lana, daddy's back!"

The door almost immediately flew open, and two kids came charging out. They skidded to a stop on the porch when they caught sight of Pietro and Wanda, leaving Clint open armed and awaiting his hug.

The twins looked at the two kids carefully, a boy and girl, flicking their eyes between the two. They peered back at them with innocent curiosity before breaking into smiles and charging again at Clint.

They flung themselves at their father, nearly bringing him to the ground from the force. Clint held one in each arm, kissing them both on the head before he let them slide down to the grassy plain.

They both looked back up at the twins, the girl more shyly than the boy.

"Who are you two?" Cooper asked.
