PLAY IT COOL

Part 1

I start my shift at the Render Coffee shop today here in Boston. Boston was the place where I grew up most of my life and I had spent a lot of my childhood at this cafe with my friends before one of my best friends Claudia had past away.  It was hard on me when she past and took me years to come back here after Claudia had past. I had decided to pack up and leave with my family we moved to Los Angeles but when I turned 20 I decided it was time to come back home to Boston. My family decided to stay back in Los Angeles since my younger siblings were still in school. I was ok working at Render though because I had my best friend Liam here with me helping me out

"Hey Layla you ready for your first shift today?"

"As ready as I ever will be Liam"

"Trust me you will be fine I will be right by your side through it all I promise you that"

"I know you will be Liam, I love you"

"I love you too dork" Liam pulls me into a tight hug before we head off for work

The whole car ride was silent I think Liam could tell how nervous I was to actually start working at a place that brought back so many memories. The hard part about working at Render Coffee was that Claudia and I had promised to work here together when we were older. I finally was and I know Claudia was looking down at me right now smiling at the achievement I had made not only for myself but also for her.

After the 20 minute drive to Render Coffee I had started my shift I had mainly been at the front counter for the start until I got used to things but everything so far was easy and going well.

"Hi welcome to Render Coffee what can I get for you today?" Looking up I am met with a tall handsome guy with beautiful blue eyes that shined like the ocean

"Hey can I just get a hot chocolate please with 1 sugar"

"Sure and was that it for today?"

"Uhh could I also have some of the Pesto eggs please"

"Sure was that take out or eat in"

"Take out please"

"Great that comes to $20"

"No problem, Hey are you new here I haven't seen you here before?" The guys gives the money

"Yeah this is actually my first shift" I say with a smile

The guy with the blue eyes gives a even more cuter smile "Well I hope you like working here its a really great place and everyone is very lovely"

"Yeah I am really enjoying it so far everyone has been so caring and patient with me"

I give the guy his drink and the pesto eggs "Well I am glad to hear it I hope you have a great shift, Sorry what was your name?"

"Layla"

"Well I hope you have a great shift Layla, its really nice to meet you and I'm Chris by the way"

I smile "Nice to meet you too Chris" I know who you are I thought in my head

"Well I better get going I have a lot of things to do but I guess I will see you around"

"I guess you will, See you around Chris" We both gave a little chuckle and I watched as Chris walked out the door. I had known who Chris was I just was trying to play it cool and not draw attention to him and myself.

After the 5 hour shift I was sat at home watching a Disney movie because thats what I loved to do when I wanted to just relax but my mind also kept on travelling to the fact that I had met Chris at work today. Like CHRIS EVANS CAPTAIN FRICKEN AMERICA. I hadn't had the time to process it until now that I was home alone by myself it actually hit me that I had a short conversation with Chris Evans and let me tell you he was even more attractive in person. I was brought back from my thoughts when suddenly my phone was ringing. It was my mum.

"Hey Mum"

"Hey sweetie how was your first day at work?"

"It was ok, you know same as any job stressful at times but I was mainly at the front counter serving people so it was easy"

"Well thats good Sweetie, was everyone treating you well?"

"Yes mum everyone is really nice you don't have to worry"

"I'm just looking out for you sweetheart"

"I know and I am so grateful for you mum"

I really wanted to tell Mum who I met but I didn't know if she would believe me or not

"Mum"

"Yes?"

"I met someone at work today"

"Well thats good sweetheart I guess you are going to meet a lot of people considering you work at a coffee shop" Mum started to laugh

"No mum like I met someone famous"

"Who"

"I met Chris Evans, you know Captain America"

The phone call was silent for a moment I thought I had accidentally hung up on her

"Mum?"

"Yeah I'm here sweetheart I am just processing" I let out a giggle

"Its ok mum it only hit me when I got home" Both of us laughing

"Sooo whats he like in person?"

I chuckled a little bit at her question

"His so nice and friendly, his eyes you can get lost in them, and his even more attractive in person then on the movies"

"Well don't go falling for him to hard Layla I know how much you loved him in Marvel and I don't want you getting hurt"

"Mum I'm not going to fall for him I probably won't even see him again, even if I did see him again I am way out of his league he wouldn't go for anyone like me"

"Sweetie anyone would be lucky enough to have you in their life as their girlfriend just don't go falling for someone that gets followed by paps 24/7, I have to go Sweetheart but I will call you again soon"

"Ok I love you mum"

"I love you too sweetie, good night Layla"

"Good night mum"

After the call with Mum it was almost midnight so I decided to call it a night since I had another shift at the Render Coffee shop again tomorrow morning and a part of me kinda hoped to see Chris there again.
