Chapter 3 - Pairs

Kaylah's POV

I open my eyes and woke up in Sangwoo's bed and arms. I turn around so my back is facing Sangwoo and reach for my phone. It's 8:30pm.

Fuck, I'm hungry.

I tried to get up, but Sangwoo's grip on me tightened and brought me into little spoon position. I giggled for a second and then stopped. I felt a bulge on my ass. I turned a little and saw Sangwoo was still sleeping. Cute.

I giggled knowing that I had won. I took my phone and walked out of his room. It seemed quiet so I assumed everyone went to sleep. I peaked in Diamond's room, but no one was in there. I peaked in Honesty's room and a small smile appeared on my face. Diamond and Honesty were cuddling on her bed. Honesty was laying down in Diamond's chest while Diamond had her chin on Honesty's head. They were so cute.

There were 6 of us who were best friends and we each had our one person who we were the closest to. It was Sangwoo and I, Diamond and Honesty, and Xavier and Javier. Everyone knew that that pair was the closest and there was no jealousy or hatred in the friend group which was beautiful. No toxicity, no harmful feelings towards each other, just friendship.

I closed the door softly as to not wake them up. Then I checked Javier's room; it was empty, obviously. I kinda figured everyone would be sleeping with their "other half" as I like to say. We all cuddle a lot. Before we moved in together we would all go to Sangwoo's house and stay with him for days or weeks at a time because one: he had the biggest house and two: most of us were in abusive homes.

I walked towards Xavier's door, but paused. I put my ear to the door and heard heavy breathing and moaning. I jolted my head away from the door and started speed walking down the stairs.

What the fuck.. I didn't mean to eavesdrop on them!

I went into the kitchen and made myself a sandwich. No, not peanut butter, I'm allergic. I poured myself a cup of fruit punch and sat at the dining room table as I ate and scrolled through instagram. I finished my sandwich and threw the plate and cup in the sink.

I was going upstairs and saw Javier walking out of Xavier's room in basketball shorts and a tank top. He looked at me and smiled, I smiled awkwardly. He froze. "You know, don't you-" he whispered. I scratched the back of my neck, "Y'all were kinda loud." He face palmed himself and ran into the bathroom; I can only assume to take a shower.

Xavier came out right when Javier went in the bathroom. He was wearing gray sweatpants and was shirtless. I looked at him, he looked at me. "I heard the whole conversation" he looked unfazed. I just stood there awkwardly, but I had a burning question. "Was it y'all first time doing it with each other?" He nodded. Then he asked, "Did you and Sangwoo do it?" I shook my head and fiddled with my fingers.

"Do you think Diamond and Honesty did anything yet?" I asked out of curiosity. "Nah, you know how Honesty is. She hates physical and sexual shit." "True, but they are cuddling in Honesty's room right now." I added. I turned to Xavier who looked shocked, "really?!" "Yea I was a little shocked too, but it was cute."

I heard the shower turn on in the bathroom that Javier went in. "That's my cue." He winked at me. "Wait!" I blurted out. He paused and looked back at me as his hand was on the bathroom doorknob. "Were you top or bottom?" He smiled and pointed up, then he walked into the bathroom and locked the door.

I KNEW IT!

I walked down the hall until I got to Sangwoo's room. I walked in on him sitting down on his bed in only his towel. "Why didn't you get dressed?" I asked. He looked up, not even noticing that I had walked in a few seconds ago. "I just got out the shower about 2 minutes ago and I enjoy air drying." He sarcastically smiled at me. I walked over to him and flicked his forehead.

"Ow- what the fuck was that for?!" He started rubbing his forehead. "That was for smiling that sarcastic ass smile." I pointed at him. He rolled his eyes and went back on his phone. I went in one of his boxes that he didn't unpack and grabbed a blow dryer. I placed down a clean towel on the floor and told him to sit on it. He did. I plugged the blow dryer in, sat behind him on his bed, and started blow drying his hair. It was so soft.

"So, college starts in a week from tomorrow. Are you excited?" I raised my eyebrow. "Mm not really. You know I don't talk to anyone else besides you guys, and wherever I go I attract attention. I hate it." I laughed at him. "What about you?" he placed his elbow on my knee as he turned around. "Hmm.. I guess. I'm not excited for the people, only for the experience you know?" He nodded his head.

"I just hope nothing bad happens.." I say quietly. He looked at me and squished my cheeks. "Don't worry. Let's try not to focus on the past. Remember, not everyone is the same." I sighed into his hand that was still squishing my cheeks. "Yea.. I guess."

"But just know that if anything happens- and I mean ANYTHING, you just call or text the group chat. Send your location and we will all be there. You know that. Remember last time?" I nodded slightly and blinked away tears as I started to remember. He looked sad, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have reminded you." He said softly. "It's ok, you were trying to reassure me. Thank you." I smile at him and he smiles back.
