The age of pirates, an era where most criminals take to the sea in search of a legendary treasure. It all started when the king of the pirates, Gol D Roger died and left his infamous last words. I'm sure you know how it goes. At least everyone's heard this before. The man who had it all, the man who became king left this world leaving a flurry of people taking to the seas in search of wealth, fame, and power.

The sea- a truly beautiful sight. When the sun reflects off of the never calm waters it seems almost surreal. After Gol D Roger died, the seas became littered with all sorts of people. Good and bad. Marines started working harder to compensate for the rise in pirates. And more pirates began to roam the seas. Many were cruel and would destroy villages for fun. They saw no value in human life. Because of them the world began to rely on the marines. Without them, who knows what pirates would do. There were already powerful pirates before Roger died. His death left a hole in the balance of power. One that would not be filled in a day. This person lived in a pretty peaceful village. It was small and didn't have much. Probably the reason why many didn't usually see pirates roaming around. A small kingdom surrounded by many little villages was a perfect place to live. They would usually go around looking for ingredients for the day. Some bread, fresh fruits, and a bit of meat were needed for the day. It shouldn't take long, after the market was a short walk from their home. After they attained the needed materials they would pass by the local bar and pay a visit to a dear friend.

A cool breeze was flowing through the air. It was a nice day and the wind blew loose strands of hair onto my face. A sinking feeling began to form in the pits of my stomach. That kind of feeling when it's the first day of school, and you wanna throw up. I was starting to get antsy and decided to leave the porch before I got to nauseous. Hopefully the wind would calm me down. Today's dinner would be simple. I already had some rice at home do I decided to make chicken and rice. Simple but it was filling. I'd probably need to buy some vegetables as well, like some lemons and carrots. I wasn't poor but I wasn't super rich either. I lived a comfortable life in a nice little house with a nice view. Maintenance wasn't that hard and finding jobs to do was easy. I'd usually take up jobs stocking things. I didn't work at one specific place, it was more like I would go around and if someone had a job I could do, I'd do it. But there was own specific place I worked at constantly. A small pub owned by my friend Makino. She was a nice woman and always spoke in a gentle tone. A small smile always present on her face. She was in her early 20's. With medium length green hair, often pulled into a low ponytail. She'd also usually have a yellow bandana covering the back side of her head with side bangs framing her face. Everyone in the village knew each other so the bar was a usually calm place. Though the occasional fight would break out from time to time. It was a relatively peaceful job so I'd often spend my days working there. I went back to my house to put away the stuff I had bought. Makinkos place was a slightly farther walk away from the market and the sun was begging to get harsh. I grabbed a simple woven straw hat from the table and began me walk. The one who had gifted me the star hat was actually Makino herself. She said I spent to much time in the sun and it would be damaging to my skin. She brought it to me the next day, claiming she knew I'd always be in the sun but the least I could do was wear a hat. The hat was pretty simple with a small (favorite flower) embroidery. I had forgotten of the uneasy feeling until I reached the door of the pub. I felt my stomach churn and it made me feel sick. I took a deep breath to calm myself but it did little to help. I opened the wooden doors, but a seemed normal. It was early in the afternoon but the pub was already half-full. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary. I walked toward the island table and on my way I was greeted by a few patrons here and there. I spotted Makino and she was making conversation with a fisherman. She saw me and smiled politely as to not interrupt the fisherman she was currently talking to. This was a daily routine, if I found her talking to someone id just make my way to the back, set down my things and put on an apron. If she wasn't talking to anyone we'd make light conversation as I set up for the day. When I came out Makino was waiting for me at the door with a blue rag in hand. She greeted me and asked about my day. In return I asked about hers. After a while the bar started to fill up even more. Makino would stay in the back and attend to new patrons and I would go around picking up empty dishes and bring drinks and food. Around noon the bar started to slowly lose patrons. It wasn't rare but it was strange. The bar usually didn't empty till late at night or closing. Outside of the bar you could hear constant murmuring. As I went to the back I heard the door open and many footstep follow. The murmuring quieted down and I could hear seats being pulled out from under the tables. I headed back and it seemed as if the bar was overflowing with people. There were three men who caught my eyes and they were all seated in the island. Backs to me and facing the entrance. A man wearing a straw hat with a red ribbon around the base. The man with the straw hat had unruly blood red hair. As he turned my way I noticed he had three long scars on his left eye and slightly stubble. He seemed rugged but didn't really look dirty. He wore a collared back cape, sandals, white shirt, brown pants and a red sash around his waist. A sword was also tightly held in his sash. Said man had very hairy legs. The man next to him had long black hair tied in a low ponytail with a couple strands framing the left side of his face. A short sleeve black shirt, baggy dark green military-esk pants and clipped combat boots. He also sported a yellow sash that was holding what seemed to be a shotgun. The last man out of the trio was huge! Both in height and width. He had a huge stick of meat in his hand and some of it was stuck around his mouth. He wore green goggles, a white and green striped bandana on his head. As well as a matching shirt and shorts. You could see some of his stomach poking out but who was I to judge? The pirates seemed to have no malicious intentions as they only sat down and the red haired one yelled " Alright men! Let's drink till we pass out!" Followed by a chorus of cheers. I sighed and Makino laughed. Today was going to be a long day.
