The heart is an unknown thing to the girl; a mystery. Why is it that they always reference the heart when feelings are felt through the brain? The organ has no such function dealing with emotions or love, yet it is always told to be where one holds such feelings.
She still stands with this opinion, the heart is not where admiration or love is held. It is however, where a couple red roses are. She feels them in the chest, enough flowers to collect a bouquet. The crimson so vivid that it outshines the red organ itself. The bunch had been growing and nestled there since she fell for a certain noirette.
Several knocks on her door successfully bring her back to life, smiling knowing full well who it is. Swinging it open, the said male she was thinking of is seen, with a single red rose in his hand. It may have looked lonesome or too simple to others, that he had only brought one flower to his partner, but she shows the brightest of smiles and accepts the gift.
"Hi." Reaching over to the boy she grew to love, she greets him with a warm smile and a hug. He smelled of cigarettes but she was used to it. The boy gives the same stupid bright smile and returns the gesture with a mumbled greeting.
They chat and talk of each other's lives as they approach the male's motorcycle, one that she has gotten used to riding. Putting on the helmet he bought her before and hopping onto the vehicle, they set off onto the bright streets of Tokyo.
The loud roar of the bike does not faze her anymore, as she hugs Shinichiro's back, admiring the view of the city at such fast speed. The thrill they both feel so exciting as they near whatever destination the boy has planned.
Ah yes
"So" the girl speaks near his ear, loud enough that he hears her; "one year already, huh."
I know now.
He laughs, never did he think he'd be able to actually achieve this after countless of rejections. "Happy one year." He says with a giddy smile that the girl behind him mirrors.
The heart does not hold my love for you.
Both their hearts glow with the roses inside them, warming and fluttering in their chests, contrasting the chilly wind hitting their figures as they dash through streets. Passing cars and people with such content expressions.
My whole being does.
Y/n L/n is still confused as ever on how the heart functions with feelings. But what she is sure of, is that wherever her feelings are, be it the heart where more red roses start to blossom, or the brain where she perceives emotions, is that everything she feels in the moment are true.
