Georgia's POV
Today is the day. Today is finally the day I start the job. Yes I know, I'll probably be starting with stalls and what not, but that doesn't matter. I had already packed my bags, gotten dressed, and loaded up my dog for the journey. She seemed just as excited as I was
I was supposed to be riding with a man named Brandon on the way to Texas, since I was in Utah. I wasn't even supposed to bring my own truck. That seemed a little weird to me but I honestly didn't really care.
A truck honked at the front of the house. I knew that had to be Brandon so I grabbed my bags, grabbed my hat, and headed out the door with my dog, Pudding.
Brandon stepped out of the truck and walked over to me, speaking up. "Here I'll take your bags for you." He then grabbed my bags before I could respond. "Oh well, thank you" I replied, walked over to the truck. Brandon put my bags in the backseat, letting pudding jump in. He moved to the driver seat and got in the truck. I opened the passenger side door and got in.
Brandon looked over. "So you are Georgia.." he hesitated before finishing his sentence "You're a lot different looking than I thought.." I was a little taken back. "Is that supposed to offend me or?" His eyes widened and he spoke again. "No, you are just a lot nicer looking than most of the other hands." Wow, this man really knew how to sweet talk. "I'm going to take that as a compliment..." "It was meant as one" He replied, just starting the truck and driving off. This was going to be an interesting drive.
About three hours in the ride, Brandon pulled into a truck stop. He looked over at me. "I have to get some diesel. Can you go in and get some food." I nodded, opening the door. "Sure, what do you want?" "Anything that is edible and doesn't taste like dirt." I smiled, letting out a chuckle. "Okay I can do that."
I got out of the truck and headed inside the gas station. I grabbed some slim Jim's, waters, and got some chicken and potato logs. this should be enough' I thought to myself. I payed and walked back to the truck, getting in. Brandon just grabbed the bag and looked inside. "Hmm you did pretty good. " "Thank you" I smiled. "I am a master food person" I said Sarcastically, pulling a pizza stick out of the bag. Brandon drove off, and on we went.
I dozed off after another two hours, and next thing I knew we were in Texas. I sat up and looked at the barn as we were pulling in. Wow. The barn was beautiful. Big and strongly built, pastures for miles. Brandon parked the truck, pointing to a guy that was sitting on a bench. "that's the lead hand. Don't piss him off too much." I raised a brow. "Why, will he go ninja turtle on me or something?" Brandon laughed, shaking his head. "Just don't make him mad, okay?" I nodded, opening the truck door. I got out, grabbed my bags, and let pudding out. The sun hit my face and the wind blew some dirt off the ground. Truthfully, I loved Texas already
