madison rolls over and sees her daughter laying in the spot of her father.

"hey, tommy."

"can i open a present?"

"sure, c'mon," they get out of bed and walk downstairs and laney sits by the twelve foot evergreen tree, surrounded by a seemingly endless amount of boxes and bags with contents worth almost hundreds of thousands of dollars, lamelo's family was in town for the holidays.

"umm, here. you can open this one," madison comes from behind the tree with a huge box.

she pulls her phone out to record laney so she could send it to her fiancé.

laney's smile on her face was bigger than the world. she quickly got up and started to rip the paper away from the box.

she was more than excited to see a giant teddy bear in the box. she squeals before her mother helps her open the box.

"woah!"

madison puts her phone up, "what do you say, laney?"

"thank you, mama." she hugs her mother's legs before going back to admiring the six foot teddy bear.

"of course," she smiles at her pride and joy. "c'mon," madison picks her up, "you can play with your bear after we eat and put some clothes on," she sits laney on the counter and goes in the cabinet.

"you just want some cereal or do you want me to cook?"

"cereal."

"okay."

"ma,"

"hm?" madison grabs the box of honey nut cheerios out of the pantry.

"where's dad?"

"we told you he would be at work all day, remember?"

"oh,"

"don't worry, we'll see him in a couple hours," madison pours the oat milk into the small bowl and scoots it to her daughter.

"'kay. thank you."

"welcome," she grabs herself a small cup of yogurt out of the fridge.

lamelo flings the towel over his shoulder as he unlocks his phone.

he opens the video from his fiancée and sees laney opening the first gift they sought after for this holiday.

he grins and goes to call madison until,
