1 week later
With finals approaching the spare classrooms and library were filled with students cramming and grabbing their heads in frustration. Some students were meditating with headphones stuck in their ears, their eyes shut to help them take a quick break from the studying and essay writing.
Kim Chaewon was one of those students.
She was sat in the far right corner and had been working on the same problem for the past half an hour now. But nothing was going her way. It was extra frustrating, to say the least, as she remembered that she had just gone over problems similar to this a few days ago.
She placed her pencil down and banged her head against the desk in defeat. If only her tutor were here to help her. In more ways than one.
'You missing your girl?'
Chaewon didn't even look up at the voice, opting to just sigh into her textbook. She felt someone pick up her work book, no doubt to inspect its contents.
'Oh, right. I forgot.' The voice smirked. 'She's not your girl.'
Chaewon huffed.
'Piss off, Wonyoung. I would like to go through it in peace.'
Wonyoung chuckled a little from Chaewon's side, tapping on her shoulder. Chaewon lifted her head to look at Wonyoung.
'When are you going to ask Minjoo out?' Wonyoung said, lifting one eyebrow up.
Chaewon pursed her lips.
'When are YOU going to ask Yujin out?' She countered against the sassy teenager.
Wonyoung fixed a crease on her school uniform.
Usually, she was a fan of the crumpled uniform look but she had promised Yujin that she would try to at least wear it smartly. So now, Wonyoung always made sure to iron her uniform every night and hang it. As per Yujin's request, at first, but she was pleasantly surprised when she realised she actually enjoyed taking care of her uniform.
She also ditched the jeans and started wearing the actual school uniform skirt, only because she liked the way Yujin's admirers would get mad whenever Wonyoung flexed her model-like legs while she walked down the hallways alongside the class president.
But, Wonyoung could never ditch the black long sleeves underneath her white shirt. Nor could she walk around wearing the blazer. Yujin didn't mind as she said (with the tips of her ears going red) 'you look good'.
'You should ask Yujin out soon.' Chaewon said. 'She's pretty popular, you know? And it's not fair if you keep her waiting too long.'
Wonyoung bit her lip.
She knew Yujin liked her and she definitely liked her too. And Yujin knew that she liked her. And all of their close friends also knew that not only do they like each other, but they both knew the feeling was mutual.
So why the wait?
Truthfully, Wonyoung was waiting for a pretty childish reason. She was pretty competitive, of course.
..............
'I can't believe it's been a week and Wonyoung and Yujin still haven't gotten together.' Heejin shoveled into her mouth what the school tried to say was meat. 'I'm so close to getting my money.'
'To recap, who here is Team Annyeongz getting together first? Put up your hands.' Yena said. Heejin, Hyunjin, Nako and Sakura put up their hands.
'And who here is Team Two Kim?' Yena put up her hand, as well as Yuri, Hitomi and Hyewon.
