Bonds and Secrets in Fairy Tail
Natsu’s P.O.V
It's been at least eight years since Lucy joined the guild. For seven of those years, we were stuck on Tenrou Island, and the Grand Magic Games haven't happened yet. I won't lie—ever since she joined, I've always had a little crush on her. Everyone on the team except Lucy knows, but I think Mira found out. It's no sweat, though; I know Mira will help me get with her! We're now on a mission to take down one of Zeref's demons, and we've been split into teams. Team Lucy consists of me, Lucy, and Gray because she's the only 'responsible' one among us. The other team includes Erza, Wendy, and Juvia (who claimed that Lucy was going to try to steal Gray), but we let her come along anyway.
"Lucy, are we there yet?" I asked for the millionth time. I knew we weren't there yet, but I just liked seeing her face when she got annoyed—it looked so cute.
"No, Natsu, for the millionth time, I will tell you when we get there," she replied, exasperated. She mumbled something about Diane and Meli, but when I asked, she just said it was nothing. Just then, Gray spoke up.
"We're here."
"What did you call me, Ice Princess?" Just then, Lucy and Erza said in sync, "Stop fighting!! / Is that a fight I hear?" with glares that could kill. Lucy jumped in surprise while Gray and I hugged each other for dear life, but we soon snapped out of it and continued our search for the demon.
We continued walking until we came face to face with the demon.
It didn’t look like Zeref's demon at all. It had a weird mark on its head, but I didn’t think much of it. What snapped me out of my thoughts was when the demon saw Lucy and froze, as did she. Then it spoke.
"Well, well, well. If it isn't the princess/traitor. How have you been, Lizzy? I thought you were dead."
Lucy remained frozen. We all were. She knew the demon. That was the thought running through all our heads. Then Lucy spoke.
"Grayroad, the Commandment of Pacifism, power course," she said as she got into a fighting position.
3rd Person P.O.V
"Lucy, do you know him?" Wendy asked, ready to fight, as did the rest of them. Grayroad then spoke.
"Who are you calling a boy, kid? I'm a woman!" she yelled, and Wendy blushed from embarrassment. Lucy giggled but quickly turned serious again.
"Yes, we have encountered each other in the past. But back to the problem at hand. Listen up! If she sees you kill anything in front of her, she will take away some of your life span, and you will die of old age on the spot. But she's bad at hand-to-hand combat, so Erza, Wendy, Juvia, and I are in luck! Since unlike some of us me could keep the damage to a minimum" Lucy said making a direct attack to the tow boys. She lied a little about Grayroad’s commandment, but Grayroad did not complain or object. And just like that, they started fighting.
It was almost over. Grayroad was on the ground, about to disappear, but she said a spell that Lucy recognized. It was too late. Sparkles surrounded Lucy, and she reverted to her original form, her true height restored, with gold eyes.
Lucy’s P.O.V
As soon as I was back to my original form, I turned to the team, hoping they wouldn’t notice the difference. Natsu was the first to ask.
"Ummm, Lucy, what happened to you just now?"
"I guess she wanted me to look like an enemy, so she did that. I knew the spell to reverse it because my momma taught me that spell when I was younger," I said, hoping the lie would work. It seemed to, but Gray and Wendy looked suspicious.
We all headed back to the mayor's office. As we approached, I felt a strong but familiar magic coming from the room. We opened the door to see—
Hendrickson. What in heaven, earth, and hell is he doing here? No, don't worry, act like you don't know him. He gave me a weird look, and I sensed the tension in the room. I broke the silence.
"Erza, where are we? You guys never told me."
She looked surprised but then answered, "We are on the outskirts of Britannia."
I turned pale but quickly composed myself. Hendrickson then said, "Your voice sounds familiar. Have we met before?"
I was a little surprised but got out of my shock and answered, "No, I have never met you in my life."
He nodded, and we got our reward. Thanks to us not destroying anything, we received the full payment. The lie I told about killing 'anything' was what saved us. The truth was, Grayroad’s curse only applied to killing anyone in her presence. But no one needs to know that.
