Chapter 15 - Can we...?

That afternoon the traffic was worse than ever, or maybe it was that Changkyun was so urgent to get to the cafeteria where Liv was waiting for him, that every red light where he had to stop seemed an eternity. The singer couldn't remember the last time the nervousness took control over his body; however, since he opened Liv's message his head and stomach ached. Just the idea of seeing again his girl made him dizzy. He was so anxious that his fingers couldn't stop playing with the car crank. There were so many things he wanted to say to Liv that he didn't know where to start, and the pressure of knowing that that would be his only chance to talk had the rapper extremely worried, he couldn't miss that opportunity, much less screw things again.

With a few streets to go, the cars were not moving forward and I.M was already losing his mind. He tried to write Liv to ask her to wait a little longer, and he realized the cellphone was at home.

"Fuck!" He said thinking about what to do.

It would be a miracle if the girl was still there, hours had passed, I.M couldn't make her wait any longer but the cars just weren't moving and it was raining cats and dogs, walking did not seem like a option.

A few minutes passed when Changkyun decided to park the car on the sidewalk, and without thinking about the rain, he got out and ran as he could. When he got to the cafeteria, he felt that his heart was going to jump out of his mouth. However, I.M couldn't see Liv and immediately thought she had gone. Once again his world was falling apart, he just couldn't have ruined things with Liv again. He would never forgive himself for losing the only chance Liv was giving him.

Just when the rapper was trying to think how to find her, Changkyun saw her. She was sitting with her back to him at the only table outside the cafeteria, a little table under a slim roof. Suddenly, his legs stopped working, he stayed static where he was for a few seconds, but he remembered how much he had worked on himself, he could not let insecurity win over him that time, he could not let himself be blamed for what he had not done, not again, so he started to move.

Liv was looking at her cell phone waiting to get a message from I.M, she had been doing that since morning. In the beginning, Liv convinced herself that Changkyun was busy, it was just a matter of waiting, but when the hours started to pass and the message did not even appear as read, she thought he had changed the number. However, Liv waited. Her heart skipped a beat when her message appeared as read, but a notification with an answer never reached her cell phone and the girl had begun to lose hope, after all, she couldn't blame him for not wanting to answer.

Olivia had no idea why she was still there, it have passed hours since I.M read her text. For any other person it would be cristal clear that Changkyun wound't appear at the cafeteria, but not for her, who was clinging to a little string of hope.

For a moment, frustration overcame her, and just as she breathed and covered her face with her hands, she heard the chair in front of her moving, and when Liv took her hands away from her face, she saw Changkyun taking a seat. When the two were face to face and their gazes met, they both reacted exactly the same, they smiled in the same way, a tender, sincere, but sad smile that showed how much they missed each other all that time. Both changed a lot, especially the rapper, the numerous nights without sleeping and his hair longer than before made him look older. Moreover, he had trained a lot and his body looked much bigger. Changkyun also saw the change in Olivia, who, unlike him, wore shorter hair. Her look was no longer that of a daring girl without fear of challenges, she looked more mature, even melancholic. However, when the two of them smiled at the same time, they found the same person from before.
