(This is not a short story. This is a rant I made a few days ago. I felt I should share it. It's not great but i think its pretty good. Anyways enjoy! This actually happened btw. 3/30/15)
I really dislike people sometimes. Yesterday a boy made a inappropriate comment about a girl in critical condition. Before he made this comment my teacher had asked what hospital she was in so my teacher could drop off the girls report card to her mother. Many students answered which hospital and during the commotion if answers, the boy made his comment. In a light voice the boy said, "might as well hold onto it because that girl isn't going to pull through."
Though I'm sure the comment wasn't meant to be heard, but it was. Another girl, not far from me, gaited and said, "did you hear what that boy said!?" The many kids around her began to ask what he said, and she, of course, told them. The news if what he said quickly spread and his classmates became outraged.
Now I didn't really care of what he said, I was too focused on my work. It wasn't until my classmates made ill comments toward the boy, that I noticed how terrible this was. I was burning with anger at hour these children could be so cruel. What my classmates were saying to him was no better than what he said about that girl. Some comments were even worse; "You should die!"
So my question for them is: how does thus make it any better? Anybody could be in "critical condition". It may not be physical, but it could be mentally. What they say to other perrine us no different than what he said. A person can be secretly depressed and ready to take their own life. That person is in "critical condition." The boy could of been in "critical condition" and one of those comments could of put him over the edge.
People are awful. I have a deep dislike for them, even for myself. We should not judge if we have done the same. We as prior have no right to judge others. Judgment hurts and burns to the core and should not be done.
