Life hasn't been the same after...

Chapter two:Well...that was weird

Days went pass and it honestly felt like months even though it was only three weeks. I was napping on the couch until I heard the tv turn on, I woke up startled. "The news is on...but it seems.. normal.." I looked at Thomas in disbelief and I looked at the tv watching it. "Weather today is going to be 72 degrees with a slight chance of a pop up shower." I stared at the Tv trying to see if it was fake or maybe a recording. It wasn't, It was today's news. "Why is everyone acting so normal when everyone just tried to kill each other for 3 weeks??" Thomas shrugged.

Nothing made any sense to me, Nothing not even the news I use to slightly watch. I ran outside to see everything fine, Nothing was on fire, no one was getting killed. I felt like I was going crazy, or maybe I've been in a coma for three weeks."THOMAS ARE YOU SEEING THIS?!" He came outside and looked around quite confused as well. People were going to work and school like nothing ever happened. Thomas continued to watch the news as he turned to me "Hey...the news person said that the Vice Presidents all over are stepping up. You think that's why?" I was still trying to wrap my brain around what happened. "hey I never got your name though, Wait aren't you that quiet girl.....um....Esma?"

I looked at him and nodded smiling. "my name is Esma. But Thomas if this all is fixed we need to go to school! Got any clothes I could wear??" Thomas slowly realizing he fucked up by getting high, as he just blankly stared at my face before coming to reality. "yeah...I...uh...have some tomboyish clothes you could wear" I smiled a little as I nodded "I can take those" as we were walking back inside Thomas grabbed my arm lightly "Hey..are you going to live with me now?...I mean...with everything with your parents you can live here for free.." I was stunned as I looked at him "Why would you do that for me?". He smiled still very high "listen these three weeks weren't all bad, We hung out a lot and got to know each other."

I thought about it and nodded agreeing. "I'll stay with you on one condition." He looked at me intrigued, "Buy more of those bagel bites and you got a deal!" He looked at me and laughed. "alright I'll get bagel bites after school okay?" I nodded smiling. I thought to myself "this is to normal why is the streets so clean, houses fixed and no ash anywhere...The cars that were broken and on fire are gone...THIS IS TO NORMAL.." I walked out his house with my bag so confused but also frustrated. Nothing is making sense right now and honestly I feel like I have ptsd from the three weeks I've been trapped in this house...
