"Do you want me to take you home now?" Elias said, pinupulot niya ang mga nakakalat na basura sa sala niya.
"It's still a little early, besides ako lang naman mag isa sa bahay. No need to go home early." I replied, tinitignan ko si Elaya na nilagay ni Elias sa ibabaw ng cabinet niya sa may bintana.
Diniligan na ni Elias 'yon kanina pa, he was admiring it for a good while din.
"How does it feel going home to an empty condo?" Tanong niya habang nagdidispose ng mga basura.
"It feels normal, kahit umuwi ako sa condo or sa mansion, I still go home to an empty household." I replied, natatawa pa ng bahagya.
"Why don't you live with your brother, or Keisha?"
"Sa States? I can't stay there, naroon ang other grandparents ko. And to be honest, they are freaky! Super masungit!" Sunod-sunod kong sabi.
Napatawa na lang siya ng bahagya bago pina-slide ang bagong stool sa gilid ko at umupo roon upang tabihan ako. Nakatitig lang kaming dalawa sa tulip.
"I will tell dad about our trip this December." He said after a moment of silence.
"What? No!" Mabilis kong pagpigil sa kaniya.
"Bakit naman? I have to-"
"If you tell him, malalaman niya ang tungkol sa atin." I said,
Oh just thinking about it makes my feet cold! Hindi ko naman ginustong ipakilala at magpakilala ng sino man sa pamilya ko, what's worse is they already know him nang hindi ko pa nga siya sinasagot!
"Laya, wag kang mag-alala, dad is cool with it!" Sagot niya, hinawakan pa niya ang kamay ko and giggled when he realized that my hands were already cold.
"And your mom?" I raised an eyebrow at him.
"She's fine with it as well, as long as I don't graduate yet." Sabi niya.
I don't get this guy, I don't get this love thing! Is love really this complicated? Taking a girl to another country for a Christmas vacation kahit hindi pa naman kayo.
But, I'm with Elias so that shouldn't be a problem right? Iba naman siya, he is someone more than a stranger to me.
"At kung gagraduate ka na, you are no more allowed to date?" I asked, medyo pabiro pa ang tono.
"You could say that." He lazily answered.
My expression changed after hearing his answer, "What about us?" I asked. "Is this called a deadline, then?"
"Deadline? Pfft, no! Relax...I'm sure they'll be fine once they get to know you more."
