Harry rapidly taps his fingers on the steering wheel. His knuckles are white, and sweat is just pouring down his forehead. He sits in a traffic jam with his bottom lip between his teeth. He checks Zayn's phone (he left it in the car) if he got another message. There are no unread messages, and he doesn't know if it should worry him or not.
Zayn is in the hospital with the blonde hybrid because those fuckers broke his arm or wrist, Harry doesn't really care. He's not ignorant. He's not, okay? He was just too bothered by the other hybrid. And he is bothered with himself too because he shouldn't care, but he does. He can still hear that horrifying scream from the boy when he was thrown onto the ground. He might be insane, but he felt like he could beat the shit out of those idiots for touching such a fragile thing like him. Yes, he's officially insane.
When the lights turn green, he steps onto the gas and doesn't stop until he reaches Josh's house. He rushes to the front door and doesn't hesitate to open the door. The sight in front of him is frightening. Now he understands why Josh didn't want to bring him home. They are in the living room, Nora looks furious. She's standing before Josh while Josh tries to reach out for her but fails every time. He has the kitten hybrid hiding behind his back, his head buried in Josh's shoulder blades, eyes shut. Harry guesses that's why Nora is so rigid, just standing there watching the scene. She doesn't even look at Harry when he steps into the room.
"Josh, what's going on?" He asks, not sure what to do.
"Don't you think it's obvious, Harry!? Nora is about to break his neck!" Josh screamed which made the kitten whimper loudly. It brings Harry back to reality, so he goes to grab Louis' wrist, ignoring the tingling sensations he drags him out of the house. When the door shuts behind them, they stop on the porch. Louis slowly relaxes and opens his eyes to look up at him. Harry's breathing catches.
The kitten has the most beautiful eyes he has ever seen. They are like the morning sky. They are lovely blue with greyish shine in them. His eyelashes are long, and his nose is small, button nose. He has cheekbones that could cut paper, but Harry is not sure if it's a good or a bad thing because of the shape the hybrid's in. He is very much underweight which is worrying. His lips are thin, and there is little stubble on his chin, same colour as his hair. He's dainty, gorgeous.
Harry is seconds away from reaching out to touch his face, but he stops himself before he could do anything stupid. That's when he realises, he still has his hand around the boy's wrist, which makes him blush and look at the ground. He's blushing. The 24 years old man is blushing!
Ridiculous. His mind tells him.
The hybrid is still shocked from all the events that had happened in the past 24 hours, but visibly relaxes when he notices Harry's big hands around his wrist then he blushes. Harry clears his throat and pulls away from the hybrid and starts to walk towards his car. He's about to get into the vehicle when he looks back to see if the kitten follows him or not. He's not, apparently. The boy is standing there, looking smaller than ever. Harry can hear small sniffles from the boy as he makes his way back to him.
"Are you coming or what?" he asks rudely. Louis doesn't look up but nods. He seems like he's waiting for Harry to start walking.
He just rolls his eyes and turns around on his heels to walk back to his car. He knows that the hybrid is following him this time because he can hear his small, fast footsteps behind him. Harry opens the door for him because he really doesn't need any fingerprints on his window or anywhere near on his shiny car. With a little struggling the boy manages to get in and Harry tries not to beam when he notices his short legs can't reach the floor.
During the drive Harry is too lost in his thoughts to notice the hybrid is shaking. He just looks ahead; his knuckles are white from the strong grip on the steering wheel and his jaw is clenched. He desperately wants to drive the car into a tree or straight off a bridge right now, but he can't do that with the hybrid on the front seat. Killing myself isn't a thing but killing someone else is. He thought. Harry isn't suicidal, he isn't at all. He just feels like shit and dying at the same time. If he was suicidal, he would've killed himself ages ago. He used to spend nights just driving to the same spot, but something always told him his time hasn't come yet. He was cheeky as a kid. He loved playing football in the garden with Josh. He went on a walk with the girl from next door. Even his teachers loved him. These things were always on his mind but now, he can't say a single thing that would change his mind.
