As he was waiting for the sun to set under the dense woods, he finally reacted. The body that was stiff until a few hours ago twitched as if it received an immense shock and awkwardly rose in a sitting position.
He looked carefully but leisurely around himself, then prepped his still somewhat stiff body onto a fallen trunk.
One of the conclusions he reached after a minute of serious pondering, is that he died. Not surprising for him. It seems that he even somewhat anticipated it. Another conclusion is that the body he now resides in isn't his own. This aspect is already a lifetime after lifetime thing that always happen, so it didn't even surprise him at all.
Giving the fact that he lived for tens of thousands of years in different bodies that weren't his own. A third conclusion would be that he's lost. Utterly, completely lost. True, he doesn't have the brightest sense of direction, but right now, he truly doesn't know where he is. It's like going to sleep and waking up kidnapped, only he didn't get kidnapped but died and woke up in another world.
'How peculiar', he thought while slowly trying to rise from his sitting position.
'Never would've thought that I would find myself into a situation out of my control', he mumbled, finally standing on his own feet without wobbling.
After he tried to access an entity named "system" and seeing that no one answered his call, he didn't know if he should feel anxious or happy. Happy because he's finally free from the "system's" shackles that bound him for so long, or anxious because now he doesn't have any information on where he is, who he is or the plot of said world and timeline he's in right now.
Though such confusion didn't last long as he mobilize himself and started walking in the direction of the setting sun. Giving the fact that it started getting darker and darker outside, his path became slightly harder to walk on. Even so, his resolution never died even when his current body screamed in pain, probably from an internal injury, he kept walking with steady steps.
He didn't know for how long he walked, almost going blind from straining his eyes to see the darkness, but he finally reached a destination. A cave. Though that didn't make him happy in the slightest, as he cautiously watched the red and blue light coming from inside.
Preparing himself and dragging his almost dead body towards the cave, he started to feel how his intuition practically screamed "danger" but at the same time "power", the divine kind.
Taking the risk, giving the fact that his life was already on the line, he continued his path, going deeper and deeper into the cave, watching as the lights shone brighter and brighter, finally arriving at what seems to be a pond. Only it was glowing with a white hue over the whole surface of what it seems to be blue and red water.

Half of it seemed to be freezing water and the other scalding hot, blue and red respectively, arranging itself and forming a ying and yang kind of pool.
He knew that if he steps inside the pond, there are only two ways out. Either succeed in absorbing the power that the pond holds, or die from an outburst if his soul is unsuitable for this kind of power. Truly a divine artefact.
'Well, I'm here now, and if I want to live in such strange and unknown place, better be safe than sorry, I guess', he said to himself with a melodious but raspy voice before stepping right in the middle of the pond, where the two colours meet and form a thin line of purple, with an electric kind of power being emanated.
As he sat in the middle, he crossed his legs and started meditating, rapidly sinking to the bottom, using the lotus position to start his slow and painful journey in becoming an immortal in a strange place without knowing what fate arranged for him.
