One day, I was playing with Aqua, when Dad flew up to us excitedly. "Girls," he said. "I have wonderful news- you have a newborn sister!" "Um," I said, confused. "But Mommy passed away so how did we get one??" He chuckled. Whenever our father did this, it felt low and warm, like it was coming from somewhere deep inside of him.

"I have a new farcell! Her name is Vanessa!" Farcel means wife, in Marphine. "WHAT?!" I remembered shouting. "How could you abandon Mommy like that! You're so CRUEL!" He was taken aback. "Violet, it's ok, blossomheart. I'm not abandoning your mother in any way. I'm just opening my heart for another fairy and new possibilities." Blossomheart was my nickname.

It made me feel better instantly. "Are you sure?" I asked quietly. "Yes, I'm sure." He smiled at me and took my hand. "Now come meet Vanessa!" Vanessa was a beautiful fairy with gold pants and a navy blue bodice. She was nice-enough- but I missed Mom. I wondered how she would feel if she met Vanessa in this current- er- love situation. She wouldn't like it, I decided. So why should I? So most of the times Vanessa was here, I pouted.

But as soon as I saw the newborn fairette, I forgot all about Mom. I ran to Vanessa and gave her such a big hug she nearly fell over.

I smiled and ran back to the little fairette. She had hatched about a week ago, so she was still a newborn. I snuggled up to her. Her amber eyes glinted in the sunlight. I couldn't be happier. That fairette was Flame, because she resembled one! Over the years, I couldn't help but notice that Aqua grew closer and closer to her as I grew further apart, only minding to talk to her to pass the salt or give me an extra three firefly wings; which I had ran out of due to my constant potion-making, but other than that we never really spoke. I liked to spend my days doing potions in nature or in my room which looked like a greenhouse because I am the "earth element" and the plants love me. Aqua liked to go down to the riverbank and swim and hunt for fish. Sometimes she would bring Flame along with her. I didn't mind. I had found my confort, and at last I was happy. As Flame got older, she liked to go hike up the active volcanoes and cannonball into the heat of the lava. Flame was fire-resistant, of course. She loved anything to do with heat. But when Dad died, she would bury herself in the lava, trying to escape cold hard reality. We became orphans, and we learned to use our magic to survive. For example, when Aqua caught fish, we boiled water- from Aqua using fire- from Flame and wood- from me. We would watch while the others slept and we moved constantly. We had so many homes: a treehouse, a mountain, a cave, and even a forest! But we settled on a burrow underground, because Flame is excellent at digging holes and the house was powered by the crystals. In no time we had an entire house underground. Now, we're living in our caves. We have a friend named Amidala. She's two hundred and one and has the weather element. She takes care of Flame when we are safe, but this is almost never. Amidala only comes when she needs something, and that has decreased to almost once every couple years. The reason why we are not safe is because the humans have found a way to enter the portal to Morphine and have started stealing our crystals. Why? They can use them to trade things back on their planet and because they're looking for the Crystal Of Light. They aren't gonna find it, because it's inside of my sisters and I. When we were born, I was expected to be a water fairette, Aqua a land, and Flame a weather fairette. But instead when we were in our cocoons-yes, we're born from them- something happened. Our father was a miner. He mined all the crystals that we use in Morphine. Apparently he found the crystal of light and didn't know it. He stores the crystals in this safe room, because they're important. When Mom had us, she died, so Dad was very protective over us so he stored our cocoons in the safe room. So the Crystal Of Light touched us and split into thirds. Each year were born, a third of the crystal went t0 each one of us, and that made I, Violet, turn into Element Earth , Aqua, Water, and Flame, Fire. When I got to hatch, I popped out of my cocoon confidently and sat on the ground. When it was her time, Aqua rose her head out of the cocoon and looked around then dove back into her cocoon. Flame was a little different. She was curious about everything. Once she came out, she touched all the crystals and roared at the top of her little lungs just because she could.
