Chapter 1 -- Goodbye Florida, Hello LA!
"Beep, beep, beep.." There goes my alarm clock. It's 8 o clock on a Saturday and I'm forced to be awake. My names Jaime and I've lived in Florida my whole life, and I never expected to move. But, this past Thursday my parents sat me and my brother down and told us that we were moving to Los Angeles, California. I wasn't to happy when I found out we were moving that weekend, because that meant I only had two days to say goodbye to my friends! Leaving them was hard enough, now I only had two days to do it. "Jaime! Get out of bed now, and start helping!" Ugh. I'm so not a morning person! "I'm up, I'm up! Chill." I quickly went to the bathroom brushed my teeth and started moving boxes. And before you knew it we were on the plane to LA. The entire plane ride I listened to Justin Bieber and Cody Simpson on my iPod, for some reason their music always makes me happy. We landed at an airport in Texas at around 11:30 that night and we wouldn't be getting on our next flight until 4pm on the next day. So we rented a car and stayed at a hotel for the night.
The next morning I woke up, ate a bowl of Cinnimon Toast Crunch, then got dressed and ready to leave for the airport. When we got there we waited about an hour and then got on the plane. This was it, my last plane ride until arriving in LA. I wasn't sure if I was excited or nervous! I think it was a little bit of both. The plane started to move and so I put my headphones in my ear and listened to Cody Simpson and Justin Bieber the entire time. "Please remain seated as the plane will be landing" I heard over the music playing from my headphones. This is it, goodbye Florida. Hello LA. When we got off the plane it was late at night maybe even 3 or 4 in the morning. So we decided to just stay at a near by hotel considering we were all exausted.
My little brother, Kyle, woke me up at around noon screaming "Come on, Jaime, wake up! We get to go to the new house!" Eh, I got up and we went down to the new house. The movers were already there and unpacking, I was just hoping my bed was already in my room, so I could catch up on some much needed sleep. I went inside to explore the new house. I picked a bedroom and decided to go explore the city as welll. So I went and opened my boxes to find something to wear. I threw on a pair of shorts and an Abercrombie tee-shirt then went to the mirror. My hair was a total mess! I grabbed my flat iron and ran it through my hair, "Good enough" i said. I decided to put on a little make up, in case I were to see any cute guys, I felt the need to make a good first impression.
"Mom, I'm going to check out the city. Call me if you need me!" I grabbed my phone off the kitchen table and turned it on for the first time sice I left. I had 37 new texts from all my friends back home saying "I miss you" and "I hope you like LA" just stuff like that. I didn't reply I just hoped on my bike and off I went. I rode around the city all day, just looking at all the places there was to go. The beaches were beautiful, but they didn't even compare to the ones back home. It was getting to be about 6pm, so I decided to go walk the beach and watch the sunset.
As I was walking I was thinking about all my friends back home, and how much I was going to miss them. When all of a sudden I tripped over a huge rock, that I swear came out of no where! And of course there just had to be someone there to see. "Oh my gosh! Are you okay?" I heard a guy say. Oh even better a guy saw. I thought. "I'm fine, but thanks." I was going to just get up and walk away and pretend it never happened. But he kept talking. "Hi, my names Cody, and you are?" and right as he said that I looked at his face and I knew right then and there I was talking to Cody Simpson. "My names Jaime, nice to meet you!" I was trying to stay calm so I didn't seem like a pshyco. I figured Cody would just leave it at that but then he said "You know you're really beautiful." I just smiled, and then he said "Do you live around here?" "Acutally, I just moved here today." I replied. "Oh, well maybe I could show you around.. Tomorrow maybe?" He added. "Really? That'd be really nice of you!" I said trying not to scream! "No problem, whats your number? I'll text you in the morning and I'll show you the best places in LA." I quickly gave him my number and went back to where I parked my bike. The whole ride home I kept thinking about how Cody Simpson told me I was beautiful and then asked me for my number. I couldn't believe it! I think LA might have been just exactly what I needed.
