Bryan passively listened to the TV that he had switched on while he made some breakfast and, more importantly, coffee. He was making some for his roommate and best friend, Naya. Their relationship was often misinterpreted by the people who met them, and even by some family members, since Naya was a girl and Bryan was a boy. However neither had any romantic interest towards each other, and they would just laugh it off whenever it came up.

Naya was still in bed, since she had her alarm set later than Bryan had his set on thursdays. On Thursdays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, Bryan would wake up earlier to make food and coffee, and on Fridays, Mondays, and Sundays, Naya woke up earlier. Both of them had arranged to get Saturdays off, so neither of them worried about who woke up first on those days.

Bryan placed down the cup of coffee he had made for Naya, placing a plate with some toast, strawberries, and an egg on it next to the mug. He started to eat his own breakfast, which was the exact same thing, and started actually watching the news which was playing on the TV. He didn't particularly care about what the news was actually saying, it was just something for him to do.

Bryan and Naya's life didn't have too much excitement, not when most of their day consisted of the same routine. Get up, have some food and coffee, take the bus to work, and then go home. Since they both worked at different stores in the same mall, sometimes they'd go shopping after work but other than that they mostly just hung out in their apartment. Bryan sometimes got some defective stuffed animals from the Build-a-Bear he worked at and Naya got discounts at the GameStop she worked at, but they didn't get much for bonuses.

"Morning Bryan..." Naya said, walking out of her room with a yawn. She was wearing a pink sweater with overalls, and her long black hair was pulled back into a braid. Bryan himself was wearing a red turtleneck with black jeans. Naya sat down at the counter on the other side of Bryan and grabbed her coffee, beginning to drink and wake herself up. Bryan turned the TV's volume down somewhat, setting down the remote to the side and pushing it slightly away.

"Good morning Naya. Sleep well?" Bryan asked with a smile. Naya nodded as she started to eat the breakfast Bryan made. The two began to talk about random things as they ate and drank, mostly just waiting until it was time to head to their bus stop for work. If they accidentally missed their bus, then there was another stop they could go to but it would make them late for work.

"The girl just wanted to buy a game, I don't know why the guy cared so much. He then realized that I was a girl and he started saying that my advice didn't mean anything since 'our type isn't any good at games'." Naya told Bryan about how the day before a guy had come in with cheeto stains and an untamed beard and started causing a scene. She started to make a voice at the end of what she said, presumably mocking the man.

"Wow, he really said that?" Bryan asked, to which Naya nodded. "Must have been a shock for him to learn the manager of your store is a woman." Bryan said with a small laugh, Naya returning her own small giggle. The people the two would get as customers could be very annoying to deal with, but they made good stories.

As the bus pulled through a stoplight as it turned green, the driver didn't see the semi truck speeding towards them from the side, too fast to stop at the now red light in front of it. Some riders began to notice and a few called attention to it, but none of that was fast enough to allow the driver to evade the truck as it crashed into the side of the vehicle full of people. It all happened so fast, Bryan and Naya couldn't tell you when their eyes closed and their consciousness slipped away.

The grass was soft and warm on their unconscious bodies, a few flowers and weeds lightly moving around them and sometimes softly hitting them. A pair of tall carob brown boots now adorned Bryan's feet, silver twine lacing up the boots on the sides with a small bow tied around the front. An ivory white dress-like outfit hung on him loosely with a conical corset typed with the same silver twin as his boots holding it closer to his body. A hood from an apple red cloak covered his head, the cloak's cape falling down to the top of his jew boots.

Naya lied not far away from him, her own odd outfit on her. She had short charcoal black combat boots on, a maroon lace tying up the boots in the front tightly. She wore a tight charcoal black full bodied outfit, a chiffon white cincher corset tied around her body with maroon lace, a matching chiffon white face mask covering her mouth and nose. A jade black hood and jade black gloves also appeared with the new clothes.

Both were too out of it to wake up to the loud roar that bellowed through the air from a far off distance, causing villages both nearby and far to pull children inside and shut their doors to both houses and shops. They didn't feel the blades and the staff pushing against them, nor did they feel the cold metal chains pressing against the skin of their wrists.
