Some days followed that night. The same routine went on. Everyday, her favorite ghost would wander around her, becoming more and more clingy, as he knew she would be away soon. He didn't show it, though. His sadness was almost invisible. But anybody could tell, Hanako was going loose everything, his everything. Though he knew it from the start, he wanted her to be happy while she lived, unlike him.
Yashiro kept acting the same, but her sorrow was more and more taking over her. Still, she chose not to show it, to anyone, especially to Hanako-kun. He was already trying his best, she didn't want him to be sad either. She had that little glimmer of hope that she would stay by his side as a spirit, but deep inside she knew, she wouldn't... She did nothing to deserve to stay in the school.
The days went on, her mind was filled with only one question "Hanako-kun, what is your wish?". She tried to ask him, every time she saw him, but it seemed that these words wouldn't escape her lips. She didn't know how to brought it, and she didn't want to say that out of the blue. She dearly wanted to make him happy, the same way he always ended up making her smile. She just couldn't find the right time. The thing is... she didn't have time.
She could feel it, or maybe was she imagining it... but her time was running out. Soon, she would loose any chances to ask him. Unless, she could change her future as he did. Tsuchigomori told her it was almost impossible, and that Hanako-kun was the only one who ever did it, at least, to his knowledge.
Those words burned her lips as her heart was beating fast. Not that she felt anything, she was just nervous. The young radish-haired girl was cleaning the toilet as usual, while Hanako-kun was cheering her up.
-"You can do it Yashiro !"
"Please don't go..." he thought inside of himself.
-"Go on Yashiro ! Go on !"
"Please, I don't want to be all alone without you."
-"You're doing an amazing job Yashiro !" He kept on cheering, hiding his true feelings.
"Don't leave me..."
-"Yashiro ! Yashiro ! Yashiro ! Clean !" he said, in a joyful tone.
"I don't want my world to be grey again."
-"You're the best Yashiro !" He shouted, believing it.
"No, I want you to keep on living..." He thought, surprising himself with this sentence repeating inside of his head.
He stopped his cheering, and Yashiro turned to face him. She saw his light-headed and foolish expression turning into deep thinking. What was he scheming this time ?
He had always believed he didn't care who died, he didn't care about humans. All those years he had passed wandering around the school, all the years he saw those humans, becoming stranger and stranger to him. He was an apparition. He couldn't feel any emotions. So why did it change when it came to her ?
Slowly moving toward him, the young yet nearly dying girl stared at him.
-"Hanako-kun" she said, making him snap out of his thoughts. Her worried expression mesmerized him as she was talking. "Are you okay? You've been staring at this wall strangely."
With his usual flirting face, he came closer to her, grabbing one of her arm while putting his hand on her waist, leaning over her.
-"Ohhh, is the little daikon worried about me ?"
Blushing madly at Hanako-kun's move, she composed herself before answering :
-"Yes ! Of course I worry about my friend."
What a wrong word in such a situation, Yashiro.
Lately, Hanako-kun was even more clingy that he had ever been, making Yashiro blush most of the time, even though she got used to it. She still couldn't help but become red when the former Kamome academy's student did this to her. Not because she had any feelings or anything, but because except Hanako-kun, nobody had ever done this to her. Today was no different as some red traces stayed on her cheeks. The ghost looked softly at her, keeping his flirty expression, as he reluctantly let her go.
Gathering all of the courage she had, Yashiro grabbed Hanako-kun's hand, making him jump a little out of surprise. Even if holding hands was a normal things for the two of them, the look on her face was different this time, and he felt it. She had something to say.
-"Hanako-kun..." she began. The apparition already had all his attention on her. "I want to know..." she paused, looking away for a moment, before looking directly to him and saying :
"What do you wish for ?"
