Hearts of Destiny Chapter 1: An Old Friend

A/N: Hey guys it's Legendary_Hero1 here with a brand new fanfiction based on Kingdom Hearts II (the best KH game ever imo)! In this story I decided that I'm going to do a rehash of Kingdom Hearts II again, except there will be some major differences in the story compared to the game itself. There will also be a romance between Sora and Yuffie throughout the story that develops until the very end of the story too! Anyways let's get on with the story shall we? :) I hope you all enjoy the first chapter of this epic and awesome journey with Sora and all of his friends! Please give me your thoughts on what I can improve on and how I can make the story better, because suggestions are greatly appreciated and I will read and accept them all! Also I do not own KH or FF characters and they both belong to Disney and Square Enix to their respective owners!

HoD Chapter 1: An Old Friend

(Hollow Bastion - One year before the events of KH2)

Yuffie sits on the balcony near Hollow Bastion's keyhole with Leon and Aerith beside her standing and waiting for Sora, Donald, and Goofy's arrival from out of it. She thought about what Leon and Aerith had told her about seeing Sora again after he had sealed up Hollow Bastion's keyhole and didn't like the answer that they gave her. 'It can't be true what Leon and Aerith had told me about not being able to see Sora again. I like him. I really like him, but he likes and cares about Kairi more than me it seems... It doesn't matter what I say or do because he'll never share the same feelings for me like I do for him.' She began to sit in silence as Sora, Donald, and Goofy came out of the keyhole. Sora approaches them and says, "What are you guys doing here?"

"We came in Cid's ship." Yuffie replied.

"This is our childhood home." Aerith says. "We wanted to see it again."

"It's in worse shape than I feared." Leon replied. "It used to be so peaceful..."

Aerith looks toward Leon. "Don't worry. If we defeat Ansem, all should be restored." She looks to Sora. "Including your Island."

"Really?" Sora said in delight.

Aerith nodded.

Yuffie begins to look down with a sad look on her face toward Sora. "But, it also means goodbye."

Sora looks to Yuffie and also begins to look down. He really liked Yuffie and she reminded him so much of Kairi when he first met her back in Traverse Town. He had always looked up to her as a good friend and nothing more since his feelings for Kairi were still the same. He still would miss her though even if he was never able to see her again, along with Leon and Aerith.

"Once the worlds are restored, they'll all be separate again." Aerith explained to him.

"Everyone will go back to where they came from." Yuffie said sadly.

Sora was a little sad to hear Yuffie say that. Then he had an idea. "Then I'll visit you guys with the gummi ship." He turned to Leon, Aerith, and then Yuffie.

Yuffie picked her head up instantly when she heard him say that and had a little bit of hope in her wanting a chance to see Sora a bit more longer, but then remembered that once he sealed the keyhole back up, it would be impossible. She and Leon became disappointed. He replied, "It's not that simple. Before all of this, you didn't know about the other worlds, right?"

"Because every world was isolated." Aerith explained. "Impassable walls divided them."

"The Heartless destroyed those walls. But if the worlds return, so will the walls. Which means we might not ever see you, Donald, and Goofy ever again, Sora. This may be the last time we ever see you and it makes Leon, Aerith, and I sad." Yuffie looked down. 'It even makes me more sad to see you go. I wish I could go with you, Donald, and Goofy on more of your adventures one day. But I know it would be impossible to leave my own world behind.' She thought.
