In order to describe my experience for you to truly understand what happened to me, I would need to provide you with a little background.
Firstly, I am the youngest out of three.
In 2013, I just started working at my mothers' company. We were doing fine financially, and the business just started to really take off. It was then decided that my mom and stepdad will move to another town to start a new business. My brother decided to move with them and my sister and I stayed. Not long after, my sister moved out and I was essentially living on my own at nineteen.
I got a call from my mom one day and she explained that one of her old colleagues needed work and a place to stay. My mom asked me if this would be okay with me and I agreed as I remembered her from past encounters. For the sake of not referring to her as the lady, we'll call her Jen from now on.
Jen moved in within a week and started her job. Our home was spacious so she was able to have a lot of privacy and me being still very young, I also kept to myself so there was no issue at all.
I did, however, develop the sudden feeling that I am being watched in places you should not get such a feeling. The feeling only started as soon as I was alone in my room or anywhere by myself in our home. It would sometimes wake me up during the night and my room would be either ice-cold or really hot. Again this can also be weather-related but the feeling always hovered over me.
At first, work went great but then I noticed some stuff not being done and was left forgotten and it was Jen who was assigned to it. She would scroll through social media sites for working hours. Naturally, there was a lot of pending work with her slacking off. This caused a great deal of mess for us to clean up and because my mom was well-acquainted with Jen, and I was only 19 years old, my mom only gave her a warning and I was told it's not that big of a deal.
So I decided to gather evidence and honestly within a week, I had enough proof that she did not heed her warning and continued the same path of laziness. I could not sit by and watch what we worked hard for go down the drain and my mom with her kind heart being taken advantage of.
After another week of me gathering evidence, Jen found out and she confronted me. I told her that I will present the evidence to my mom and not as her child but as a concerned employee. That night, Jen knocked on my room door which looking back now, should've been a red flag. She said that she had made dinner which should have raised another red flag since she has never made me dinner before but I blame my immaturity to not see these flags. I told her that I was not hungry and she said that she would leave it on the stove for me so I thanked her.
Later that night. I did get hungry and I still remembered that it was beef pasta. I put the dish on the plate and as soon as I wanted to touch the food, I got really nauseous. I just couldn't get myself to eat. You know how you just have that sudden instinct to do or not do something? Well, something was telling me to back the hell up. In the end, I never touched the food and ended up throwing it away. I do believe that it was poisoned somehow but I have no evidence to support this claim. It could have been anything else that made me feel sick.
Anyway, I ended up showing my mom the evidence and after careful consideration, my mom asked her to go. I might seem like a bad person in this scenario but something was off with this lady and my gut was telling me to get rid of her.
Jen moved out shortly after and I did feel a sense of relief but it was short-lived. The feeling of being watched grew more intense and one night, I got up to use the restroom and as cliché as this sounds, it was real.
Our bathroom was right in the middle of the corridor. As I got to the bathroom and moved to switch on the light, something or someone was standing about 15cm from my face. It was a dark figure, a bit shorter than me and although I could not see its face, I could feel its eyes watching me. It had long hair that went past its shoulders. It didn't move and only stared at me and I at it.
When my brain actually registered what I was seeing, I did what any nineteen-year-old girl living alone would do. I screamed my head off and ran straight to my room, jumping under the covers and praying like never before.
I realize that it might have been a shadow and my mind was simply playing tricks on me but it just seemed too far-fetched for it to not be real.
As time passed, I did see other strange things happen in the house but I learned to ignore them and have since then, moved out and the home has been sold.
I still believe that Jen somehow opened the door for these things and that entity still haunts the house...
