Hi everyone,
I have been off for a wee while as I explained, to finish my last essay and final assessment for the end of year and now I only have a week and a half of work left and then a nice three week break over summer (yay!)
New Zealand has Christmas in the summer (crazy I know), so our Christmas's consist of BBQ's, swimming in the lakes/beaches, and enjoying the sun! Just before the pandemic I visited my partners family in England in November, and got to experience what a winter Christmas is like! It was like something from a movie haha.
I hope that you are all well on the lead up to Christmas. I have received some lovely requests as to what you would like for Christmas Writing presents this year, so I will be taking these into consideration for my future posts for the rest of December. Next week will be the first special post.
Much love and happy reading as always,

IRIS
The council have arrived.
Iris glanced at Darius from the corner of her eye. The King cut a stoic figure on his throne, unspeaking as the four knelt down before him.
So, these were the infamous council members? Iris appraised them slowly. They did seem to be a rather intimidating group of lycans, but that paled in comparison to the King sitting beside her- who was currently exuding an aura that seemed dark enough to kill.
"You may rise." Darius said coldly. One of his hands was still resting on Azrael's head, but the other was curled into a fist on the arm of his throne.
The four lycans straightened in unison. Gracefully, they turned as one unit to bow towards Iris. The petite red-haired female seated on the tallest lycan's arm was the one who spoke.
"The council offers their greetings to the Princess Silvon and wishes the Lady a very Happy Birthday."
The female's words were simple and polite, yet Iris could not help but feel as though they were scripted- as though the woman was holding back something.
Nevertheless, Iris pushed aside her doubts to acknowledge the woman's introduction. "It is a pleasure to meet you." Once again, Iris rose from her seat, "I am honoured to have the council present for an occasion as insignificant as my birthday." She smiled lightly. "I hope that everyone will be able to have a pleasant evening."
"Do not be concerned Princess," the woman dipped her head once more, "the council does not intend to cause disruption tonight."
It took a moment for Iris to realise the implication in the female's words, and when she did, a light flush of embarrassment spread across her cheeks. Without thinking, she opened her mouth to reply, her tone slightly more defensive than before.
