You grew up in the streets of the Lanes with your 'family' Vi, Powder, Clagger, Mylo, and Vander. You were only about a year younger than Vi but you could fight and had a knack of getting out of tight spots. You may have been young, but you were tough and tall for your age. You were just about Vi's height. You even went with them on a few of their scams. Which is what you were currently up to.

"I'm going. Are you with me or not?"

Clagger looked over at Mylo who shrugged. Clagger gave a sigh.

"Vander's gonna kill us."

"Yeah, only if we screw up." Vi gave the boys a look. "So don't screw up." She then turned and jumped onto the balcony. We waited for her to give the all-clear. As we waited for Vi to look around, I looked over at Powder. She looked a bit nervous. I was about to tell her it was gonna be ok when Vi gave the signal.

Mylo was the first to jump down, feet first, onto the railing and then the balcony. I will admit that I thought that Mylo was kind of cute. He was kind in his own way to people he was close to, and he looked a lot kinder when his brows weren't down. He always tried to lighten up the group, but they mistook it for chattiness and thought it was annoying. I just didn't like the fact that he picked on Powder. Clagger helped Powder down as I heard Mylo wonder aloud, "Who locks their balcony?" I rolled my eyes and jumped down after Clagger and Pow. Mylo was already working on the lock when Clagger looked down.

"Whew, there's tons of enforcers down there."

"Means we're in the right place," Vi explained glancing around. She turned back to Mylo asking if he was going to open the door soon.

"Working on it." He replied, fixing his gadget. "Seeing as I'm the only one who knows how to pick locks. I suggest--"

Vi had had enough and just kicked the door open. Mylo looked startled for a minute as Vi walked in. Clagger gave him a quick smack on the back of his head when he walked by for talking back to Vi. Mylo mouthed an 'Ow' and touched the spot. I walked in after Pow, offering Mylo my hand. Still looking at the group he whispered, "Animals," He looked up at me and took my hand. "Thanks." He muttered, looking down with his eyebrows slightly down. Once we got in, Vi dropped the bag on the floor in the center of the room. She started looking at the books, Clagger took in the size of the room, and Mylo and I looked over at a table covered in gadget pieces and such. "You know, Clagger, for once you're right. We are definitely not supposed to be here." Mylo said with a small smile. He picked up 2 small flat circular objects. He gave them a quizzical look, shrugged, and set them in the bag. Clagger opened a drawer and, deciding that everything in there was of value, he dumped all of it in the bag as well. I looked at some books with runes in them. Interesting. I threw it in the bag. Vi looked over a blackboard, with a piece similar to Mylo's in hand.

"Must he an inventor." She guessed turned to look around the room.

"Whoa, I think this is a real Valdiani." Powder exclaimed with excitement. She tapped it and a small, golden solar system came out with soft music.

"Oh yeah? What about this?" Mylo challenged, pulling out a nose hair trimmer. He obviously wasn't aware of what it was. Powder informed him what it was with disgust as Vi walked by telling her to look out for anything valuable.
