The Next Day

After going through the wild sea to get to the island and listen to the old man story about the whirlpools, Cale headed to the forest at the center of the island.

“I’ll be back soon.”

“Please shoot your shield up into the air if you are in danger.”

“Young lady-nim, I will be right behind, ugh.”

Cale just half listened to Beacrox and the Vice Captain as she walked into the forest. She then quietly spoke as soon as she was away from the others.

“What do you think?”

The Black Dragon answered back.

“As you mentioned, there is something underneath that whirlpool in front of this island. It was similar to the power from that cave from last time.”

The Black Dragon was talking about when Cale earned the Vitality of the Heart. Cale leisurely entered into the forest. He just came here to look at the whirlpool.

Cale asked one more thing.

“There’s nobody here, right?”

“There's one thing.”

"Thing?"

Hearing it makes Cale immediately stop walking.

She started to get anxious as soon as she knows that there's something unknown inside the island. She subconscious stepped backwards. She was too scared to continue to walk around the island.

The dragon nodded his head then turned invisible again when Cale walked towards the boat again. However, not even a minute, Cale stopped walking again. It's because she saw there is a dark aura on their way.

She was correct, it was a mermaid.

Mermaid was one of the creatures that were using dark mana as their source of power. That's why Cale can sense its presence nearby.

She didn't know how the mermaid was able to reach the land when just now the dragon said that it was underwater.

When Cale was about to ask the black dragon to turn her invisible, she can see Beacrox and Hilsman roaming around from her place.
