Chapter 5: All to Myself

A week had passed since Shane and Ell had slept together. They hadn't seen each other much but when they did they acted like nothing had happened. Despite the fact that Ell had confidently said it would never happen again she couldn't stop thinking about it, especially at night when she was all alone in her bed. Shane did the same. She had been with only one girl since Ell and for some reason it just wasn't the same, no matter how hard she tried she couldn't stop thinking about Ell.
   
    Since then Alice had spoken to both Shane and Ell individually. She told Shane that she didn't want her sleeping with her friend, that she felt Ell needed this group and if anything went wrong she would lose the first friends she had made in LA. Shane didn't understand it wasn't like they were in a relationship and no matter what happened she doubted Ell would lose any friends at all. Nonetheless Alice told Shane that Ell was "off limits". Meanwhile Alice had told Ell to watch out for Shane, that she was bound to get hurt if she kept messing around with her and that if anything did happen she feared it would make it difficult for Ell to be around her new friends.

    It was another Friday night and the girls were all headed out for a night on the town. Everyone would be there including Shane and Ell. Shane was doing her usual thing, talking to girls and dancing, so was Ell. In particular Ell had hit it off with a cute girl by the bar and spent the first half of the night buying her drinks and flirting. Shane was on the dance floor with another girl when she noticed.

    Shane looked over the shoulder of the girl she was dancing with and started to watch Ell flirt with some stranger at the bar. Their knees were touching, and the girl kept touching Ell's arm. Shane didn't understand why but for some reason she couldn't stand watching another girl be that close to Ell, shamelessly flirting with her. She tried her best to ignore it and continued to dance.

    Ell was really into this girl, her name was Raegan and they had been talking for an hour. They had so much in common and Ell liked how easily she could make her laugh. She was having a really good time but couldn't stop watching Shane. She was on the dance floor all over some girl. Ell didn't like it, she was jealous, but she knew who Shane was and understood that there was nothing she could do to change that. The night they had was fantastic but it would never happen again. She had accepted that and was trying to move forward.

    A little while later Shane was still dancing, watching Ell flirt with that cute girl at the bar. Shane was starting to get bored of dancing and starting to get more and more bothered by Ell giving another girl her attention. Finally she had enough, once the song ended she made her way off the dance floor and over to Ell.
"Hey, can I talk to you for a minute?"
"Oh uh I'm sort of in the middle of something. Maybe later?"
Ell said, nodding her head towards Raegan she was talking to.
"Okay, yeah ... okay."

Shane walked away more bothered than she was before. She went and sat down watching Ell continue to flirt. A tall blonde approached her and sat down next to Shane. They got to talking. Shane was not at all interested but when Ell looked over at them she saw the opportunity to make her jealous. Soon Shane had her tongue down the blonde girl's throat and was glancing over to see Ell's reaction.

Ell was talking to Raegan and trying to enjoy her conversation but she couldn't stop thinking about what Shane had to say, maybe she should have excused herself and heard her out. Just as she was thinking about it she looked over Raegan's shoulder to see Shane making out with a blonde girl at their booth. She couldn't handle it, she had already spent her night watching Shane dance all over other girls and that was hard enough but watching her kiss someone else was too much. Ell wasn't sure but had a feeling Shane was trying to get her attention and well, she had it.

"Hey, wanna Dance?"
She asked Raegan hoping to get back at Shane. Raegan excitedly accepted and the two made their way to the dance floor. The song "Do You Miss Me" was playing and Ell pulled Raegan close. As the song neared the end Ell leaned in and kissed Raegan. As Ell looked up she saw Shane standing nearby, watching with a hurt expression on her face. She stormed into the bathroom and Ell followed her.

"Shane!"
Ell yelled entering the bathroom.
"What's your problem?"
She asked as she found Shane leaning against the sink. She scoffed.
"I don't know, I guess I didn't appreciate you sticking your tongue down that Raegan girl's throat."
"I didn't stick my tongue down her throat, we shared a kiss that was all. Why do you care anyways."
"I don't know, it just bothered me okay."
"Really?"
"Yeah really."
Shane went to leave but Ell stopped her.
"Wait"
Shane looked at Ell
"It bothered me watching you make out with that girl, that's why I kissed Raegan."
"Ell," she paused "I don't want you to be with other girls, ... I want you all to myself."
It was quiet.
"Well I don't want to be with other girls."
Ell whispered as she went to kiss Shane, but Shane stopped her.
"We can't."
"Why not?"
"Alice told me you were off limits, she's right we shouldn't do this."
"Alice doesn't get to whether or not I'm 'off limits' Shane. I do and ... I- I want you."

Ell said quietly as she pulled Shane close. Shane's lips crashed into Ell's. She pushed her into the sink and lifted her up so she was sitting on the counter, her legs wrapped around Shane. Their kiss was passionate and heated. She went to reach a hand up Ell's shirt but she stopped her.
"I don't want to do this here."
Ell said looking into Shane's eyes.
"Oh ... Okay."
Shane backed up but Ell pulled her back towards her.
"Let's go to my place."Ell whispered into her ear. The two smiled at each other and Shane kissed her before leading her out of the bathroom. They made their way through the club hastily and out the door. Alice and the rest of the group had reconvened at their booth and watched in shock as Shane and Ell left together. They made their way to Shane's car, the drive wasn't long but it was agonizing. Finally they arrived at Ell's apartment building and made their way into her apartment. ...
