My birthday came and went and before I knew it, I was standing outside a huge mansion with a cardboard box sitting on the ground next to me. I held a case with some left over cake in my hands. The nuns at the orphanage threw me a birthday/ going away party when I woke up in the morning. I never that I'd be sad to age out so the tears on my cheeks while everyone sung happy birthday surprised even me. Even Zeke looked sad to see me go. The doors to the house swung open, revealing an elaborate hallway and an old woman standing in the doorway. She hurried out towards me.
"Good afternoon, dear. You're Luna?" She stared at me with big brown eyes. The hunch in her shoulders made her look small, but her face was kind.
I nodded and went to grab my box but the woman beat me to it. "I've got it, dear." She grabbed the box that was almost as big and she was and began to make her way back inside. "Come on inside. Mr. Sutton is waiting for you in the library." She motioned her head towards a large, dark wooden door as she scuttled past it. "I'll just put this in your room."
Before I could protest, she was down the hall and around a corner, leaving me staring at the gigantic doors in front of me. A part of me wanted to run from those doors and never look back. But it was Ryan. The same Ryan who constantly showered me in tips and undressed me with his gaze. What could go wrong?

Ryan's spare bedroom made me feel like a princess every time I stepped into it. The king sized bed had black satin sheets on it and a fluffy grey comforter on top. There were more pillows that I've ever owned stacked neatly against the iron headboard. Most of those pillows ended up on the floor. I was starting to get a grip on the layout of the house. I was most familiar with the library. On the first day I came here, Ryan let me explore the shelves of books after he welcomed me to his humble abode.
The food was pretty good. Ms. Thomas, the older woman who took my bags, cooked the best breakfast I'd ever had. Though I found myself missing the atmosphere of my usual breakfast place. I decided that I would stop by, maybe see a few familiar faces too.
I was putting my tennis shoes on by the front door when Ryan approached me.
"Where ya going?"
"I'm just going out to grab breakfast!" I looked up at him over my shoulder and smiled.
"Ms. Thomas is making breakfast casserole. There's no reason to go out." I heard him take a few steps closer.
I bent down to tie my shoe. "Thats ok! I think it'll be good to go see some of my friends!"
When I stood up, I was nose to nose with Ryan. His brown eyes stared straight into mine before flickering down to my lips then back up. He reached out and pushed a strand of hair out of my face. "Stay here. With me."
"Ryan, I really want-"
"Please."
I couldn't stop myself from nodding. "Ok."

July 7th-
I woke up in the middle of night, craving something sweet. Like brownies. I knew that I could easily call Ms. Thomas and ask her to make me some but I didn't feel right waking her up at such a late hour. I tried to fall back asleep, but the growling of my stomach convinced me that I could make my own. I threw on some shorts and a tank and made my way downstairs and into the kitchen.
